    Re: Fury Tank

Idk why you would want to this in the first place with such things as Dual Spec and the fact that Prot is imo, a much more fun spec to play and as mentioned half of Furies abilities wont be availible to you and not much use anyway.

If its a speed thing just get a decent group and l2pull efficiently or if its a DPS thing why not more Prot with slightly less in Fury or spread over Arms more and switch in some DPS gear along with your prot stuff.. a personal thing I do for 5 mans is switching my 2 tank trinkets for DPS ones with on Procs (Grim Toll / Pyrite Infuser) and that Haste Proc ring just to get a slightly higher DPS.

Imp Cleave 3/3 and Cleave Glyph is my friend in 5/10 mans.

I was looking at something like this:

    http://www.wowarmory.com/talent-calc...00000000000000

I think you have to rely on Tactical Mastery improved Bloodthirst in Defensive Stance for your tanking rotation. Partially under the premise that you have a high enough stamina pool that 1% is a lot and a high enough Strength pool that BT hits HARD. Y'Know, BT->SS->BT->SS.

Or maybe this as a shieldless Arms tank:

    http://www.wowarmory.com/talent-calc...10000000000000

Problem being, I'm not sure if Arms would have a viable threat rotation this way even if you could stay alive. Might be beneficial to stack dodge since, if you discount blocks as a source of mitigation, I think Dodge will do much more good point for point than Defense rating. You can get nearly 7% Dodge just from enchants (head, shoulders -- if you're and inscriber -- and legs) and two trinket slots. Another 5% from talents. That's assuming you're JUST going for +Dodge, not even factoring in agility... which may actually be good for a shieldless Arms tank since it fuels crit and your primary mitigation, armor and dodge.

It's entirely possible to do that AND stack enough resilience to get crit capped while having itemization free for Strength and Stam, which are going to be high on the PvP gear you're mixing in.

I'd be shocked if you outperformed Prot but I'm just looking for fun little projects to tinker with.

Blizz has indicated an interest in shieldless Arms tanking for the expansion. I'd almost have to envision this as agility-based somehow.

    Re: Fury Tank

Resil can infact make you Crit immune.

We had a Panzerkin tank XT the other day :P

    Re: Fury Tank

You'd white hit for like 40% more, but you'd be taking so much damage any theoretical threat generation wouldn't last long.

Fury tanks were bad even at 60 when some people foolishly thought they were worthwhile. It's even worse now. Don't waste your time.
Actually, Mr. Lennon, I CAN imagine a world with no hatred, religion, war, or violence.
I can also imagine attacking such a world, because they would never see it coming.

I can also guarantee resil works for crit reduction. I use a couple pieces of pvp gear in my regular spec so I can almost ignore defense entirely. Gives me a very nice hp boost (2-3k extra health than if I used regular pve tanking gear and had 537 defense).

http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?warr...nCTWbmd,,10482 is about the only spec I can see working. Assuming you're crit immune/decent avoidance anyway.

Some people think having less threat, having less rage, having less mitigation is a challenge. I used to tank as fury, every time a tank went afk for lunch just before a boss, or offline or away or just morphed into a drama queen.(all these cases happened with druids xD) and it completely sucks. Strugglin with aoe-threat, using sunder armor again xD

Tanking as fury is fun on lower level dungeons, with a good healer even 80ies, but then again, you dont need def-items for it. Heroics? Forget it ^^

Take off a few peices of gear and spec correctly if you'd like that type of challenge.

    /2 cents

i have taken only the talents that are/will be used in def stance, also i didnt get all the way down to titans grip since a 1h would probably be better and i didnt want to sacrifice too much in the prot tree

    however

If i am overgeared and my healers bored i take off-pieces. Thats far better than speccing fury.

Is an instant slam as a tank really worth spending points in bloodsurge?.

    1. where else would you put the points?

    2. insta slam = more single target threat which this spec might need help with

    Re: Fury Tank

Just yesterday I saw a fury warrior tank.
He was helding 2-hand sword with his Titan Grip, and shield in left hand.
So I asked him if he feels okay tanking in fury spec, and he said like, l2p noob you can tank in any spec, I'm Ulda geared, chill out you don't even have 30k HP, see my achievements.

His guild was called <Can't pay my repair bill>.
    No, seriously.
It's a shame that you can't be banned from WOW for being bad player.

    Re: Fury Tank

i've played resto shaman and my friend was tanking with fury (2h + shield)
we were in 10 men naxx / hc instances gear
even do it was doable it was quite hard and not as funny as one might think
problem was keeping aggro, not healing
dpsers would rather easily take aggro of you unless they are undergeared
2h weapons have slow attack speed and white misses were problem...
