had the same problem, but turns out our rouge had initial aggro from FOKing the adds, vanished as thorim jumed down -> boss despawns
same thing a try later with our holypriest and his aggro-lose spell (dunno the name right now)
since i am the add-tank i taunt thorim as soon as he lands, preventing him from despawning (at least that worked for us)

Probably just a bug with the 3.2.2 patch ...
(We had the same issue tonight in Ulduar 25.)
We had the same issue last night very annoying.
We had 3 evades/resets, then we moved on.. clearly a bug somehow =)

Same problem last night, gave it 3 goes and then moved to Freya hardmode.
seems like blizzard keeps bugging their patches...
first with sartharion flamewaves and mother shahraz in 3.1.
now it is thorim bugging in 3.2.2.
what's next? twin jormungar stuck beneath the ground in 3.3? airships crashing in 4.0?

You can relax.
Quite possible has something to do with someone up on the ledge getting initial aggro somehow, and since he can't get to them from the arena he disengages combat and despawns.
Nope, we tried all kinds of tricks. One of the first things we did was making sure no one was still up on the ledge when Thorim jumped down.Originally Posted by Pojodan

someone said something about this being a reported bug they screwed up with 3.2.2.
There was a smallll patch out the other day, and we had no problems killing him a few hours ago. Not sure if it's fixed though.
