Stupid Ret Pallies are so FACEROLL!

Actually, we have pretty terrible DPS on training dummies compared to many other classes/specs. We rely on essentially every raid buff and debuff to do our best. Along with enhancement shamans and unholy DKs, we're the only other spec that needs the full array of both physical and magical buffs/debuffs. Enhancement shamans and unholy DKs, fortunately for them, bring a couple of the most powerful buffs along. Ret paladins don't.

And DPSers of every spec need to know wtf to do and where to stand. It's not saying much to point out that ret paladins also require this. See my post of a couple pages back about all the OTHER things (besides moving and DPSing) ret paladins have to pay attention to. I think it's more clear and better stated.

If someone is going to use that macro and lose so much dps then they are bad and that's a whole different issue. Good pallies don't faceroll.

I will point out that with a certain gaming keyboard, or a certain program running in the background, ret paladins CAN just hit one button and maximize DPS. This is because that certain keyboard or certain program can do slightly more advanced things as far as macros. (For example, if my priority keys are laid out 1-5, I could hit a key on the gaming keyboard and have it send 1-5 in that order. It would then use whichever ability is off cooldown in proper priority order). I believe they are also against ToS to use that way. But just saying.

Ret paladins are, I believe, the only class that can do this right now. But it requires illegal outside assistance.

Learning the lesson from the technique of the keyboard, we can simulate it with our fingers. It would then be a fingerroll. So, ret paladins are a fingerroll class, so long as we're not paying attention to the other things we can do. (I, for one, wouldn't be brought to raids if not for the other things I do though)

I've always wanted to badly. And I have heard from many people that they are the hardest DPS class to play with. I've been slowly leveling my druid just to hopefully, one day, be raiding as feral dps

They arent hard- I figured it out after about 7 minutes on a target dummy on the PTR.

Same with Aff locks, provided I use Class Timer.

the whole "feral druids is hard business" crap started when rogues complained that cats were doing a TON of dps "for a hybrid", so the whole "well it's harder" thing was born

spriests can't even let their mind flay tick 3 times every rotation, they have to clip it and it isn't as predictable as it should be. a little latency spike or poorly planned repositioning and you're out 500dps for that fight

a bad lag spike and you're out 1k, or if multidot a bit slow and let the buffed SW:P drop, you're screwed too

I could write for pages about how frustrating the interaction is between current ret mechanics and ToC fights. Ret runs into similar problems with all of the target swapping that goes on there. I won't say any more about it, though.

Instead, I'll just say: there are certain mechanics and situations that make almost every class suffer. Part of playing your class WELL is knowing how to handle those situations so as to at least minimize the problems they cause.

I do feel sorry for spriests though. Even ret paladins beat them on most fights.

1st /castrandom is dead since 2 or 3 month.. have no idea since ive never used it once
2nd in this video we can see him heal himself, cast HoF, LoH, etc without having nothing in his macro
3rd thats before we could have epic mount at lvl40 so far in the past
4th lvl60 balance mean nothing against level 80
5th pve thread anyway..

I didn't watch the video, but ret paladins probably are the most OP class at level 60 (if they can gear themselves comparably to starting DKs). This is simply because we're at full power at level 60. All we're missing is sacred shield. None of our significant DPS abilities have ranks. Instead they scale purely off gear. And we have them all at level 60, except for SoV, which isn't so great for PvP anyway.

/castrandom has always been dead. If the player in the video was using /castrandom, he would have done even better using his abilities the normal way.

If he was using abilities not on his macro, he simply proves that there's more to ret paladins than faceroll. It takes attention and experience to know when to lay off damage for a GCD to use other abilities.

Whatever. People hate ret paladins. That's why I insist on having one as my main and doing it RIGHT.
