Think about it, if another leader takes the Lich Kings' place. and unlike the old one this new Lich King is on the living's side. we will have a third faction too.

a faction which includes undead warriors who watch over the living and make sure the dead stays where they are supposed to be. Northrend becomes their realm and Argent Crusade stays there to keep in touch with the new lich king.

this neutrality of the "new scourge" leads me to believe that in future (maybe WoW2 or warcraft 4 ) scourge will become a powerful "anti-villian" faction just like the Alliance and the Horde.

...now what entices me more is the thought of watching these 3 factions fight to "secure" a lasting peace .

no, the only "thinking" being on the scourge is the lich king, and the rest must do as he says, so a being without any will can't be really playable

There's no way this is happening.

No doubt, that it will be a dramatically lorebreaking event, and we still have yet to see what this will do major characters and such, but it's not going to be a third playable faction.

He's not saying add a new faction for Cataclysm. He means a new faction for a new Warcraft game, whether it is Warcraft 4 or WoW 2. Learn how to read please.

well the forsaken are already facing an angry Horde trying to take control over em. (orc guards in UC) and judging by the way Sylvanas is being "ordered" by Garrosh to attack Gilneas I can hardly believe Forsaken will "stay" with the horde after WoW, Worgen don't look like they are going to see much "alliance" love either (I'm not talking about alliance players, im talking about lore).

so we might have 3 factions in future(maybe warcraft 4, im not talking about WOW and its' expansions) :
a savage and beasty faction (horde)
a typical good faction (alliance)
a dark and merciless faction (scourge)

if you ask me this faction "combination" is quite good.

You know what'd be awesome? If the Argent Crusade took control over everything undead, creating peace at last, but in a time centuries beyond WoW's timeline, they turn into the standard 'we create peace by controlling everything with force!' organisation, thus, more enemies for people to kill! Yay!

Because it mentions that there needs to be a new Lich King to control the scourge. All part of the transcripts for ICC. You may venture a guess that LK dies in ICC being the final boss and all, but without the recent information (part of this post), you wouldn't know someone has to take his place, meaning a lore character will be lost/changed in some way.
