Am i cutting the mustard (Enh PvE)?

Seeing as i'm the only enhancer in my guild it's sometimes hard for me to know if i'm doing as well as i can or if there are areas of improvement (outside gear ofc). To that end:

Garric - Wowhead profile

As you can see my current loadout includes the battered hilt weapon and mostly t9/i1232-245 equipment. Had zero luck with trinkets so had to replace the mirror of truth with the war token. Replaced the t9 ele haste totem with the t10 enh so i didn't have to rely on LB for it to proc (tbh i prefer sustained buffing trinkets/totems to rng procs). Glyphed for FS due to t9 4pc.

Talent spec

Due to running a lot of 10 man raids, ensuring a reasonably consistent mana regen seemed worthwhile so 2 points in Imp SS (which works out at approx 560 mp5) plus mana spring means i can generally last a little longer than a minute flat out without replenishment or other regen buffs.

Please note that due to a bug in the encounter, the effective dps is completely screwed (basically we got him down, got our 2 achievements then everything despawned and we were stuck in combat, even a soft reset failed to sort it). I'm using the default priority list in the latest SAA which feels about right to me. I will admit to occasionally fat fingering my buttons so my MW5_LB's and shock rotations could be a bit tighter plus i'm stuck at around 5fps in 25 man raids on my shammy which sucks massively (looking at blowing a £1000 on a new base unit, not including gfx or hdds :P ).

So the question i'm asking is, looking at it from a real world perspective, am i cutting the mustard as an enhancer? Also i've completely avoided t10 set pieces up until now as other upgrades have taken precedence imho (i may go for the chest piece next as it mean i wont break the t9 4pc). However is it worth biting the bullet now and going t10 2pc/t9 2pc overr my current loadout?

I have the T10 2 piece set bonus and its a nice boost on command, great for timing with pot of speed and heros but if you get it, use it as often as you can since its near the top on the priority list and you want to maximize the uptime for any fight. You may see mana become less of an issue so move towards Imp. Shields, you have good shield uptime, may as well utilize that a bit more. Try one point at a time, widdle off the Imp SS point first, see how that fairs.

SAA is great, you can use Power Auras as another layer to help keep things tracked, maybe not just visually but with sounds. You can hear procs if that helps you, it does me, wolf_howl.mp3 triggers whenever spirit wolves are on cooldown on a boss, its pretty neat way to track it.

Queue up your next spell on the priority before the GCD finishes.

As for glyphs, try dropping Flame Shock Glyph for Windfury Glyph, it holds more weight outside of raids. Many may disagree, but meh, its dependent on you being spot on with FS to keep that benefit, and a passive boost to WF is easier to work with. And works outside of raids and for faster dying mobs which you wouldnt likely cast FS on due to short life span.

4 piece teir 9 was the first thing I broke. I do not have 258 gear so the items were actual upgrades to begind with. The first piece I picked up was the chest. That gave me 4 piece and 1 piece. next was shoulders. That gave me 2 piece and 3 piece. That also opens the door fro me to replace one of the 3 pieces of T9 with a better non set piece until I get 4 piece (or 3 piece depending on how upgrades come. 2 piece is an awesome boost to DPS. And seeing as how I will always have my 4 piece, I figured it was bet to grab that first. Besides when i roll on tekens I'll have the piece to upgrade with already.

Now that I have 2 piece though I am looking at saving badges. Reason is VoA will be out soon, and I do not know how the tokens are going to work for that this time. If it wrks like it did in the past I will be picking up the helm and be gunning for the pants. The gloves I already know I want to replace with a drop from ICC. If I get the gloves in VoA, great, if not oh well. If VoA does not work like it does in the past, I will have the badges saved to change how I want to approach gearing.

As far as your talent spec, I find running with 1 ISS is just as efefctive as 2/2. With 1/2 I can put another point in shields though (IS is going to be a better DPS increase than AK). other than those two things, your spec is fine.

As it seems you are already aware, your FPS is cutting into your performance as well as the missing of abilities. I'm pretty sure we all still miss some, but keeping that at a minimal is key.

With your current gear and situation, I would say you are defidently on point though. Just need some minor improvements, and of course a little better hardware. Good luck to ya!

You really dont need any points in Imp Stormstrike in 25-mans.
I would take those 2 points, and put em in Imp Shields. Also take 1 point from Ancestral Knowledge and put that in Imp Shields so you get that to 3/3 for the cookie cutter Enh spec.

2xT10 + 2x T9 is better then 4x T9, so try to get that asap. I picked the Shoulders and Helm first, because they have nice stats on em.

Your DPS is fine for your gear.

The new totem is an upgrade not so much because of its improved stats but because of its very high uptime. For example, Totem of Quaking Earth sims out with 65% uptime for me (using current 3.3 priorities) but Totem of Avalanche sims out to 99.9% uptime. Quaking Earth used to give me ~80% uptime in 3.2, but with Lava Lash slipping further down the priority queue, so has the benefit of that totem. That being said, I still plan to get the totem after my T10 4-piece.

I'm not telling anyone what to buy or not buy, I just dont want someone to come and read your post and waste their badges on something thinking they will gain 180dps. Sure if they come from having nothing it may be worth that, but not from upgrading from Quaking earth its only 20EP more.

Conclusions:
1) Enhsim 6.1 It using FS even when I tell it not to, where in the priority? I have no clue found the bug by luck and will report it.
2) Electrifiying 10,000 hours : 9650.97. uptime of 80% thats 160 passive haste, Bizuri has a 100ish uptime thats 220 haste, = 60 passive haste difference.
3) In the end with my gear (250avg) moving from any 245 to Bixuri's yielded 60 passive haste (not the 20 I pulled out of my ass /bad obskure bad or the 180 dps you pulled out of yours :P) ending in 100ish DPS upgrade for 30 coins.

** I know I did the totems test while using t10 2set. I also ran it with out and the difference was still 100ish dps.)**

4) DPS with t9 4set: 9047.81 DPS with t10 2set + t9 2set = 9422. Thats 380 DPS for 120 coins.
5) 2set = 3.17 dps per coin
6) Totem = 3.33 dps per coin

Time to buy the TOTEM! well this late in the game I'm already at 3 pieces no point on buying the totem now as the next tier piece will bring me to my 4 set. The totem is clearly the way to go though if for any reason your next purchase wont bring you to your 2set or 4set, not by AN INSANE amount but every little helps !

Then again this are my numbers you should run this math but with your own gear to know what the best path is, or if you are lazy do what other ppl tell you maybe they are right :P.

I'm not telling anyone what to buy or not buy, I just dont want someone to come and read your post and waste their badges on something thinking they will gain 180dps. Sure if they come from having nothing it may be worth that, but not from upgrading from Quaking earth its only 20EP more.

1) Notice that I used the words "probably" and "for me", meaning that these are the results that I simmed using Bizzuris vs ToQE vs 2pt10. No piece of gear will ever sim out the exact same DPS for another shaman unless he happens to have identical gear, gems, enchants, spec, race, and latency.

2) Downloading the latest versions of Rawr+Enhsim, i get the following results...

I haven't run the sim in a week or so and it seems my upgrades have had an impact. Bizurris is now a 143dps upgrade over TOQE AND it is a 57 DPS *upgrade* over 2pt10. Anyway, the point is results will vary from person to person. I really don't see why you are attempting to disprove MY sim results using your character. And I didn't tell anyone that they should buy the totem over tier pieces, I simply explained why *I* did. While you don't appear to enjoy as nice a boost as I did, your results still prove that the totem is an efficient use to tokens.

putting all those long complicated posts in some short points together:

1) you can apply it from range, so it´s probably the first dmg spell to hit the boss, while walking towards it.
1a) because it´s the first dmg spell of you to hit the target, it helps to stalk faster
1b) because it´s applyable from range, at moments where you have to move/being not able to melee something
(onyxia phase two, gas cloud/slime by prof (target switching, or running from those things), rotface slime-illness, ship switching in battle ship enc, switching between adds and boss by lady, marrogar whirling out of range and so on ) you can simply turn and fireshock it quickly, and you will have 42 seconds where you wont have to worry about your stacks wearing off

2) because the stacks come from the dot of fire shock, you apply it once and the stacks keep increasing without any further effort of yourself
a) because the time inbetween the stacks is only 3 seconds, it takes 3x5=>15 seconds to stack to full, whereas stormstrike require´s 2x8=>16 seconds to stack to full after first stormstrike. also remeber that you will fireshock first, so there´ll be another 2-3 seconds or so => faster stacking time

And although there's already been posted proof that it's better, note where I personally said, 'especially if you're in high enough gear to start gemming for haste'. That implies that you're already using the sim to find out that it's time to gem for haste and so you'd use it to test the totem as well.

If someone is just reading information on here randomly and then go buy their gear then I could care less about them being disappointed over not gaining exactly what dps we claim that you can gain by it. However, informing people who obviously use the sim to their advantage of optimization of how they can improve their dps is why I post such things and will continue to.
