Recruitment to Balance is Currently open (check website for changes) although this is under constant review. Our roster is just about where we want it to be for Icecrown Citadel at the moment but that does not mean that we will not consider exceptional applications of all classes.
Some history about our guild:
Balance is one of the few guilds that can say that they have been around since the start of WoW some five years ago. In that time we have taken nearly all server firsts and were the number one guild on Grim Batol before our migration to Executus, since the defeat of C'thun in Ahn'Qiraj. While the above link will give an insight into our former past, more recently we secured Realm First Algalon and Realm First Deaths Demise and a respectable world top 30 for Tribute to Insanity. In addition, Balance just became the world's fourth guild and EU Alliance first to gain the Tribute to Immortality achievement.
What is expected of you:
* A high level of attendance for all raids, while we understand not everyone can make absolutely all of our raids, the best geared and most proficient at their role tend to be people with close to 100% attendance in Balance.
* Our raid times are 19:00 - 00:00 for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. These times change for progress raids in which we often start raids earlier or extend the finishing time as per the guild's needs. When we are farming, as we are now, we tend to only raid for a couple of days per week. If you cant make these times, this is not the guild for you.
* As a high-end raiding guild, we require a roster of players dedicated to the guild and with that players who understand that their specialisation or class may not be the best set-up for the guild to take to a certain encounter, because of this we expect players who apply to realise that it is unlikely that you will be brought to every raid, at least until you have proven to us that your the best choice.
* The ability to learn from your mistakes, we are all human and even the most skilled player can make a mistake once in awhile. However, the difference is that the 'skilled' player can adapt and is unlikely to make the same mistake again. If you cannot learn from your mistakes and improve, you're time in the guild is likely to be short.
* You should have a good level of raiding experience. Typically the better players that apply to us have played since vanilla or at least the start of the Burning Crusade. If you have only been playing since Wrath of the Lich King, we will expect you to be on top of your game. When ever you started, it goes without saying - you need to have the best set of talents for your given role including gem choices.
* Balance is a social guild, you will be required to integrate within our structure, a raid-logger is not some thing we are typically after. In addition, you must be tolerant of others and prepared to accept that jokes will be made at your expense as well as others and that if you cant take this, Balance might not be the best place to apply to.
* You must be able to speak English fluently and not just within a chat box i.e. you will be required to use your microphone at times.
* Lastly, be over the age of 18. In the past we have taken in some younger players and will always consider this if the said player's application was exceptional. Nonetheless we are not looking for players who have a set playtime say past midnight.
*In Balance DKP is awarded even to those who are not part of the main raid. This extra DKP allows all players to get their fair share of loot when they are chosen. As a trial you will accumulate DKP, but items will be prioritised to members first, who have already earn't their place within the guild.
If you wish to apply to us please go to our forums and post the application publicly, or send it to one of the officers, either myself Hawt, or Melly. While we have other officers who will be willing to help you, we ask that you only send applications to those two that are named to avoid applications going missing.
Please include the following information in all applications:
* Your character name;
* Information about yourself - your age and where you live;
* Experience including previous guilds;
* Link to your armory.
How you complete the rest of the application is completely up to the individual. You may wish to include WWS Logs, screenshots of your play style, your approach to raiding. It is really up to you, however, just to warn you, our best applications tend to be many pages in length and highly detailed. At the end of the day we are looking for a personal response that should allow us to gauge a much greater perspective of you as both a player and a person, rather than following a standard template.
We tend to take between a couple of days to a week to decide on applications and will always give an answer to public applications. Private applications though - as we get many will not be replied to unless they are successful. Therefore, if you posted a private application and it did not receive a response within a week and a half, you can assume that on this occasion you were not successful.
