On an unrelated note, I only just got around to listening to Machinehead. never took the time to really, a decision I presently regret.
Locust is freaking insane. Totally blinding album and something I regret not catching when it came out.
I must have heard some early stuff by them and gotten put off or something.

I'm sure I'm late to the party, but check it out if you're like me and put off listening to stuff for years.

Am okay with Davidian, but other than that... I think they have the same problem at lot of other bands have: too long songs, too many boring parts. That and I think the vocals are very weak, particularly live.

Even old timers fall prey to it. Exodus has some cracking songs. Unfortunately, they also have a tendency to write 7+ minute songs which just... do nothing at some point.

Also laughed hard on how the last song on Solace is called "Prelude of Things Worse To Come" and then they released Minus The Herd, which was not as well received as the rest of their stuffs (due to how they removed tons of the dissonance/chaos and played a more simple groove based variant of their music) and also that song had very similiar style to what they played on MTH. Either massive coincidence or massive self-irony
