I was simply wondering how Spriests are doing in pvp 2v2/3v3/5v5 wise? I figured i would go a different route and try it regardless but i was just wondering what the current situation is with them

Life is life, ya live ya die.
why must everyone over complicate things?
If you know your spec well, and you practice long enough, a Shadow Priest can be very effective. In an arena setting, we're still lacking survivability, especially since once dispersion is blown, you're pretty much at the enemy's mercy until it cools down.
Theres plenty of survivability as shadow. You need to learn how to peel people and use fade effectively. Silence is incredibly useful, and so is physic horror. Physic horror can be either defensive or offensive. Its incredibly useful when you are trying to quick-burn a hunter, because hunters cannot deterence while disarmed.
Learn to play it and you can reach 2.2k and even alot higher, atleast in 3s. I also like Sp + Rogue in 2s, tried some last season just for fun. Was kind of faceroll up to 1900 then I went back to disc xD
