    Restoration Item Comperison

    So I am trying to choose which of these I want to use <a href="http://www.wowhead.com/?item=50181">Dying Light</a> or pair up <a href="http://www.wowhead.com/?item=51875">Lockjaw</a> (heroic) and <a href="http://www.wowhead.com/?item=50423">Sundial of Eternal Dusk</a>. I made a wowhead comparison for it as well so here is the link to that :

    <a href="http://www.wowhead.com/?compare=5018...7:51:32:11</a>

    So first when I look at this I think well look at all those stats that dying light has that the pair doesn't have. Which is true but then you look at the pair and its got a ton more spellpower then the staff. And a lot more spellpower at that. Where as all the staffs better attributes are small.

    But that is a lot of small attributes that are improved so idk small things add up quickly. however my priority stat order is generally.

    Haste (until capped) > Spell Power > Spirit > M/5 > Intellect > Crit > other

    So the staff has 11 more haste plus with the yellow socket I would put in <a href="http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40128">Quick King's Amber</a> giving it 31 more haste rating. plus the <a href="http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40133">Purified Dreadstone</a> that I would put in the staff as well bringing the spirit I get from the staff up as well as the spellpower. but its always an option to put 1 or 2 <a href="http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40113">Runed Cardinal Ruby</a>'s in there as well and I will of course be open to that. which would bring down the amount of spellpower gained from the set by 18 (since the set also has a red socket and a spell power socket bonus bonus)

    This is a puzzler for me. what do you guys think?

    Personally I would go with Trauma and Sundial of Eternal Dusk... You don't get the haste but the proc generally accounts for 4-10% of healing done on most fights, depending on how grouped people are. Of course I'm already way over the haste cap so losing the ~50 haste wouldn't affect me.

    Agreed. The healing from Trauma is way more than the benefit you'd get from the ~50 haste on the MH.

    Not sure if the OP is deciding on current items or proposed items, but if you absolutely had to choose between those two options I'd go with Lockjaw + Sundial. Personally I still go with SP > Haste, but even if I didn't 30 haste is never going to be as good as 100 SP.

    This exactly.

    You pretty much said it yourself OP.

    Haste > SP. Not Haste >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> SP.

    But really, I'd say haste is at best equal with SP. Lockjaw + sundial all the way. At least until you get trauma.
