Hey, i know they've been prob. hundreds of these topics over time but i do need some help ahah.
Right, im a Balance spec Female Night Elf druid, i'll post my amoury at the end , Ive been raiding icc10 for about a month and half and icc25 on and off with guild when needed. Now, ive been demoted several times due to my DPS being low and what not, i wonderd what am i doing wrong? Ive been researching and looking over many forums and re-routing my spec over and over testing out on dummys, i can usually kick out around 4-5.5k dps, sometimes in the 6 when lucky. My rotation usually goes FF-Trents-typhoon-starfire- IS-MF-Wrath until eclipse-SF until eclipse and then pop back on the dots when needed, sometimes it changes around depending on moving and what cool downs are finnished and so on! for anyone who uses GS just incase, don't flame :P, its 5224.

You need more crit and spellpower, and try to don't have too many downtimes as moonkin dps falls down when you get a pause .
Also try to max your jewelcrafting, and change mining with tailoring since it provides a much better profession bonus than what mining gives.

First off, your gear:
You're using way too many spirit items(spirit is close to useless, even worse than intellect) which results in you having a low amount of crit / haste (yes, you trade these good stats for bad spirit). This seriously hurts your dps, as you will struggle proccing Eclipse with a low crit rate.

Your meta is not active - you need two "counts as blue" gems in your gear, meaning you should use Purified Dreadstone (12sp / 10 spirit) in the two blue sockets where you would receive the greatest socket bonuses.

Your DPS methods:
Typhoon should only be used in specific situations. The damage per cast time is far less than your 4 main dps spells (Starfire, Wrath, Insect Swarm, Moonfire) and it should therefore only be used in one of the following situations:
A: You are moving + Both dots are up => you have nothing else to do. So you do this instead of doing nothing.
B: AoE. Typhoon is a great tool in AoE situations, not only for the damage, but for proccing Nature's Grace, with which you can cast a much more powerful Hurricane.

Your spec:
Genesis is useless for anything but AoE-heavy fights (Anub HC for example) as it gives you about 0.2% dps per point, depending on gear, making it one of the worst talents. Taking a point out of something to get Owlkin Frenzy is accepted as a good choice, especially in ICC. However, you should take that point from Imp. Insect Swarm instead of Imp. Moonkin Form.



There would probably be more things but those are the important ones (apart from the spec part. Your spec is decent but not perfect).

Try to avoid Spirit when taking new gear. Your prioritys should be:

1. 236 hit rating (262 without draenei aura)
2. 401 haste rating
3. Crit
4. Spirit

Socketing:

Blue: 2x http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40133 in your gear to activate your meta gem. Place these gems to sockets with greatest socket bonus (pref. spell power)
If you already have 2 blue gems, just socket http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40113 and ignore the socket bonus

Yellow: If the socket bonus is 5+ spell power use:
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40152 if you have more than 400 haste
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40155 if you don't

Rest: On every other socket just place http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40113

And you really should try to get some other trinket to replace the http://www.wowhead.com/?item=48724 something with Crit / Haste / spell power would be ideal.

Meaning you should not have any spirit item, as there's always a better alternative with more crit or more haste instead of spirit. (except a very few items like frozen bonespike, or t9 until you get rid of 4p bonus)

Also : change your 2nd trinket, Talisman of Resurgence is very bad for moonkin, http://www.wowhead.com/?item=47182, http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45308 or even http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40432 are way better (from harder to get to easier)

Think over need is probably the problem in your case. If only all that spirit was crit/haste. Most of your items are resto ones and shouldn't have been needed by you in the first place. That said, cloth items overshadow leather ones quite often so you should really check for that alternative too.
As a conclusion, Mr. Scroll never hurt anyone.... Everything is out there!

P.S Your 1/2 Master Shapeshifter is definately to be laughed at considering you are whining for low dps....
