Just hit 58 on my DK. I want to level super fast. What would be the best spec for DW tanking at 60 and up. I read in the tanking sticky that IIC and Icy Talons isn't viable at 80, but is there a way to work it into a leveling spec?

I haven't found DW to be viable for leveling because of the extreme lack of 1h weapons to be used for tanking in Outland, and probably for leveling in Northrend (Didn't actually look). You might as well go 2H Frost while leveling, you shouldn't have any trouble as long as you don't try to tank before you get Howling Blast and Death and Decay.
For tank leveling through outland and northrend, I'd say frost is a great option. Your best itemization for most of that time period will be 2HOriginally Posted by Tabu34

Well... i have 2 BoA swords thats y i want to do DW, but I also have the BoA 2h Axe and 2h Mace... if i have to go 2h which of the 2 would be better for Tanking, the axe for AP or the mace for the agility (avoidance)
Well if you have the BoA then itemization isn't an issue, so I'd say use whatever is your preference. Hell, you could rotate them and reduce time spent later on training weapon skill.Originally Posted by Hyptronix

Sorry for hi-jacking the thread, im also looking to tank while leveling my dk, what's a good frost 2H spec to use, im currently using a blood leveling spec but blood isn't a "great" AoE tank so i might have trouble keeping agro.
but is there actually any point going frost if i already have this spec? if i spread deceases and death and decay surely i wouldnt lose the agro?
Your AoE will be sufficient as blood.Originally Posted by Hardie

Yeah blood generally is better to level up with if tanking is your goal. Save the DW dreams for when you hit 80 and there aer actually weapons to be found. Again though do not look for "tanking" 1hs unless you absolutely need the def stats on them - a 2h is sufficient to get you through to 80 and MUCH easier to plan around/find drops/rep weapons.
WAY too many times during random dungeon queues your "healer" will be a bored ret pally who wanted an instant queue and DS/worms will be your main source of heals.
As said before, if you have access to heirlooms, there's two decent slow one-handers (one from WG, the other from emblems), which are good enough for DW tank leveling, and you won't have to look for good one-handers 'till you're 80.
cheers my mains a deathknight on a different server as dps but my mates on a different server so i quickly want to level up another character as a tank
Honestly? You're a death knight, who will be tanking during the levels death knights are OP. Most anything will work.Originally Posted by Hyptronix
My baby DK (level 70) is set up as an unholy AOE tank. I went for all the disease/spelldamage talents, didn't bother with anything that buffed PS/SS. In fact, I didn't even pick up SS, since I like the healing from DS when doing randoms (never know what kind of healer you'll get). DnD, IT, PS, Pest, and then BB and DS.
In the 20+ randoms I've tanked, I've always topped the damage meters. It's not an endgame-viable spec since single-target threat is bad in theory... but for reg randoms it's good enough. Basically once you get your opening rotation off you don't ever lose threat on anything.
http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?deat...VSSsxSc,,11623 try a build like that with tanking gear. A lot of self healing, mount speed increase, and you should be able to solo any of the elites you need for questing.
