i dunno bout the map but have you tried just disabeling the standard questhelper?

I'm pretty sure cartographer isn't being supported anymore. Try using mapster it does pretty much the same thing but its missing some features which can be added using other addons.

If you really want to keep using cartographer check the comments at the bottom of the cartographer page on curse.com there are usually some good comments on there on how to fix it for new patches
