Re: Druids- What do you want in Cataclysm?

They are changing heroic strike and other "on-next-swing" attacks to be just instant attacks, so that will kinda give us another attack instead of having macros with /cast !maul in them.

A ranged Interrupt for those pesky caster mobs.

    An alternative to swipe spam.

Im really curious what they are going to do for the Feral tree since they said that they want hybrids to have a tree dedicated to tanking, like blood now for DKs. and that they want to get rid of talents that try to do a lot of multiple things.

Cheetahs have been clocked to be able to get up to 70-75 mph, even if its only for a short burst.

Make a feral talent that increases cat/bear form speeds like it currently has, but include cheetahs go up to epic mount speeds.

I'd be happy if they only showed us new models for aqua form/ travelform and the new druid races. Any new skills/ talents they throw our way is just gravy. Quite happy with my druid as he is now.

    Empowering nature: 1 min cd

Root with 40% of your hp emerge from the ground infusing you with additional Nature power increasing the critical chance of wrath by 20% and starfires casting speed and damage by 20% while you are stationary.
While moving the Roots keeps your focus and let's you move 26y from the roots without loosing casting meanwhile you do not benefit from the stationary effects during movement.
The roots wither after 35 seconds the root is healed for 30% of your damage done.

Ofc all the numbers are placeholders.

It should look like the nature bomb in the last fight of freya, with a wine connecting to the druid.

    Nature's Protection.

    PBAOE Roots.

All targets around you become rooted and receive damage during 6 seconds. Any damage done to rooted players frees them from the entanglement. The druid receives a 100% bonus speed to his travel form for the 6 seconds after the spell is cast.

More bleeds so i can keep going blind every raid after looking at timers the entire ICC raid -.-

    On a more serious note
#1 - New AoE Tank ability gief shockwave ala skill.
#2 - Less threat in kitty
#3 - Less RNG for lolkins
#4 - Make healing with resto require some form of brain to do.
#5 - did i mention i wanted MOAR BLEEDZ IN CATZ?! <- no thats not to be taken seriously.
    Oh hi

Re: Druids- What do you want in Cataclysm?

Another look after playing my druid and I think that the cat form could go deeper into the rogue equivalent, simple rogue spells like vanish or more complex attacks such as Mutilate should be considered for cat form but only deep in the feral tree. And the possibility to reduce a feral druids healing ability to increase their damage permanently or to increase one stances bonuses or stats while nerfing their others eg increase cat damage by 10%, reduce bears damage/threat/stamina etc but again deeper in the tree to discourage low level segregation. Considering at 80 a feral or caster druid is either dps or a tank, or dps or a healer their stats should be altered accordingly as a full dps feral druid isnt going to use bear form, this is an alternative to seperate trees for cat and bear - a bear tank might not be fussed about his kitty form at 80/85 so should be able to sacrifice in order to specialise as quite a few talent tree points try to cater for both forms and not enough for each, this may be the 'fill any role' intention you want for the forms however it doesnt cater for a druid of a certain specific role.

Oi and a Dire Cat form 'would' be nice blizz ;D or talent points to buff a stance like stance master shapeshifter but more specific to each tree or form and Furor should include a tree form buff like +10% spirit (new base healing stat in cata?) compared to the +int for moonkin.

#4 Vanish like skill for cat would be sweet.
those are good, boom is very boring to play and takes no skill what so ever. I would like to see swipe in kitty be 360 because it is unfair the way it is now compaired to other class's aoe.

I would hate for tree form to become a cool down. I love it as it is. Well it could do with some unique abilities.

Re: Druids- What do you want in Cataclysm?

Per individual "spec" I think Blizzard is already aware of what they need to do. Bear tanks need one or two more interesting tools in their kit. Cats needs a way to reduce threat that isn't a joke. Resto is in a pretty nice place, mostly Lifebloom being wedged out and Tranquility barely being worth a button on your bars. Another raid utility spell might be nice too, something in the vein of reducing damage on other raid members. Moonkin have the Eclipse problem, and scaling issues in general. These problems I think Blizzard can address.

What I don't see them addressing (barring major surprise) is the lack of "Druidness" in pve. By that I mean in about 95% of all pve encounters a Druid will never shapeshift except to either shake a snare or cat Dash out of a hazard or for raid utility ie Rebirth or Innervate. All other times it's one form, locked, the entire fight, because there is simply no reason to shift.

From my point of view the times I feel most like a Druid and not just a Mage, Rogue, or Warrior with some tweaks are in PvP, particularly small scale encounters. (You'll note I don't compare Resto Druid to another class - they did build Resto to be very unique as a Healer but still in pve encounters you're just that, a Healer that will in all likeliness never shapeshift out of Tree Form for the whole encounter). When an opponent goes down having a cat bleed, bear roar, and moonfire DoT on them, after being bashed, cycloned, and rooted (maybe multiple times), with me ticking HoTs to keep that slight HP advantage, that's when I smile to myself and think "This is being a Druid. This is leveraging all the capabilities to their utmost."

The problem is I don't know that Blizzard has a way of making shapeshift a more prevalent part of being a Druid in pve situations. Currently the bonuses provided by the forms for each talent spec are so defining that shifting to another form to do anything represents waste in the minds of most Druids. And rightly so, barring the few key raid utility spells, there's nothing else with enough value to warrant shapeshifting.

So if I had something to want in Cataclysm it would be to integrate shapeshifting to be more key. How would they do it? I have no idea.
