Ashen Verdict Rings Agi or Str

Okay. I've seen multiple ret paladins wearing either the agi or str Ashen Verdict ring. I've seen some say get the agi one and I've seen some say get the str one. So why the difference in choosing which ring? I mean we benefit from str more over agi so I figured that would make the pick easier, but it seems that something is up here.

Ive been messing with both version on various bosses and dummies, and I find Agi to be the better (Sadly, some Agi items > plate)
