Myself and my wife Tenallia are co-leaders of Jechaiyeth which was created on February 10, 2010.
Our guild name is similar to the Hebrew word Mechaiyeh. Loosely translated, Jechaiyeth means 'Legendary Masters of Valor and Skill'. Despite our policies which emphasize values - we're not Jewish or religious. It's pronounced 'Jeh-kai-yeth'.
We're not keen on racist or crude humor, don't appreciate 4-letter words, or people who like to troll trade with anal jokes etc. - so if that's your cup of tea, don't be surprised if you receive a /gkick for that type of behavior.
Our philosophy towards raiding is to progress as efficiently and logically as possible within the scheduled raid time. We encourage communication on vent to best coordinate our boss attempts. We're also not interested in wiping on the same encounter for several hours.
When any of our raid groups reaches a plateau of sorts that is halting progression because of player skill, we will encourage improvement, and recruit replacements for those underperforming players who fail to improve.
The single most important pre-requisite for anyone becoming a member of Jechaiyeth is to be a genuinely good person. We recognize that some of this games best players are extreme jerks. Those types of people aren't welcome here, no matter how awesome their skills may be.
In a nut-shell, don't swear, don't troll, don't be a ninja, don't be immature, don't badmouth other guilds or players and don't whine.

Highlights of our Rank Policy
Our ranking system has been specifically designed to be an implementation which is scalable, fair, and focuses on building a solid foundation. By rewarding guild participation and initiative, we provide the keys necessary for a healthy and thriving guild. We've purposefully avoided awarding responsibilities to members based solely on their abilities as a player. It's our belief that doing so provides a disservice not only to the guild, but also to the player.
There aren't any "Raider" ranks. It's not necessary to be a raider to obtain promotions or contribute to our guild in a meaningful way. There also aren't any "Class Officer" ranks. While providing helpful class advice certainly counts as initiative towards a promotion, it's not something that would be compulsory. We don't want to force someone who plays their class exceptionally well to be saddled with responsibilities such as guild bank management, recruiting and disciplinary tasks unless it's something they want to do.
Removing the typical "Class Officer" and "Raider" ranks allows us the freedom to establish a clear chain of command. The way our chain of command works is very simple. You have authority over anyone with a lower rank than yours. As such, you are encouraged to exercise your authority if you see someone acting against our guild policies. Standard procedure is to send a private whisper to the individual, reminding them of the guild policies (in other words - don't publicly berate them in guild chat). Depending on your rank, you may have the ability to demote and/or kick someone if they don't respond in a respectful manner. Caution is to be used however, as it's also possible to be punished for abusing your authority. If you're unsure of what action should be taken, or lack the confidence that your superiors would approve your actions, then you had better ask first.

Loot System Basics
Points for all raiders are tracked via a google spreadsheet which anyone can view, but only the master looter has access to edit. This will soon be updated with a mod that we are developing which will automate our system in-game, and track complete bid and item history on our website. This mod will be available for other guilds to use via download on our website as soon as we're done with the beta testing.
Anytime a new member joins a raid group, they immediately earn 2 points. A minimum of 1 point is required to purchase a piece of gear. The master looter will post in raid chat "mainspec pst bid for [whatever item]". If you were interested in the item, you can send a whisper to the master looter with how many points you would like to bid. The minimum bid is one point, and currently there is no maximum. Whispers need to be sent out within 20 seconds. The master looter usually communicates on vent as well to make sure nobody misses an opportunity to bid.
The raider who bids the most points wins the loot. If there is a tie, those who tied will roll. The amount of points bid are then subtracted from their total. If nobody bids, the master looter will then post "offspec pst bid for [whatever item]". This will allow people to spend points on gear for offspec.
Someone is only required to spend the maximum amount of points needed to win the item, not the whole amount bid.
If nobody bids for mainspec or offspec, then the master looter will post "open roll [whatever item]". Whoever gets the highest roll wins the item but won't lose any points.

Members. Anyone can become a member of our website.
Arcade. We have an extremely robust Arcade built into our website with over 350+ flash based games which will record your scores and allow you compete with other members.
Forum. Our forum is a great place to connect with those in our guilds and extended friends of Jechaiyeth.
Photo Gallery. All members get free access to our powerful photo gallery. We have unlimited storage, and you can even use us to host your photos similar to photbucket.com (which allows you to easily display your images on forums, facebook, myspace etc).
Free Email. Get yourname@jechaiyeth.com for free! You can get a full-blown email account with unlimited storage which can be accessed via webmail.jechaiyeth.com, and even has IMAP/POP/SMTP for integration with smartphones, Microsoft outlook etc.

When it comes to recruiting, gear isn't very important to us as we are looking to acquire great people...not toons with gear. Those with only a casual interest in raiding, or PvP are also welcome and encouraged to join.
