He gains runic power through shield absorbs with boiling blood.
However, he no longer gains runic power from mark damage.
The only way to stop the boiling blood runic power gain is for paladins to bubble or BoP it.
Mages can iceblock.
That was changed months ago, as a bug. But, the answer's already out, so before this thread is derailed, I'll just go ahead and lock it.
