I...actually don't like Converge that much. Gave them a few good listens, but it's just not growing on me. Sorry =/

Here's my like second contribution. The Human Abstract - Self Portraits of the Instincts. Also, if you can play the solo without sounding as crazy bad as I do in my pitiful attempts at it, I'll paypal you a dollar.

Now I could go on a rant informing you how highly acclaimed they are (the album Jane Doe is ranked as the top album of 2000-2010 on some music review sites), how groundbreaking and influential they are, and how narrow-minded you are for not liking them.

But instead I'll say this: that's cool, I understand and respect your opinion.

Also, I listen to that The Human Abstract song since you usually mention them alongside Protest the Hero, but I must say I didn't like it all that much. IMO, what sets PTH apart from the rest of the metalcore genre is Rody's voice. It's a nice change to hear clean vocals for the majority of a song instead of growling/screaming every second measure.

A thread on Post-Hardcore and no mentions of Refused at all!? For real?!

Look up; The Shape of Punk to Come and be amazed.

EDIT: RockStrongo, how acclaimed a band is should not really be used to gauge how good they are. That said, Converge is badass.

HOLY CRAP MIND = BLOWN. If only the rest of the community could do this...

<insert screaming rampage>, yeah they're not as popular as PTH for most. I think it's largely due to Nocturne being much of a guitar appreciation album because it's got so many classical styles and time signatures that are more present in neoclassical metal(but done way better because THA's guitarist is actually straight up classically trained) than metalcore or mathcore. I definitely agree about Rody though, his voice is so damn distinct and it meshes perfectly with their obtuse style. Thus far no other band really sounds like PTH.

    Hopesfall: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=325VrIVSQbk
    Poison the Well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRvyBMGnrec
    Norma jean : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agdu9IQoywE
Misery signals : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XlccGu58Bc ( really surprised no one named this one, they are still really popular to this day)
Darkest hour: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMAorUAzm6o (this one too, they even had a song in the guitar hero series...)

    Now...todays generation

    A ghost inside : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIwAtvsDTRY
And pretty much i know from todays hardcore has been named already.
and sadly, i find old hardcore scene more apealing to me,
New scene seems filled with with posers and douches that goes to show only to mosh pit or something, they dont even care about the show.

If I didn't know of Lady GaGa, this would be my favorite song.

All That Remains is a kick-ass band, seen them live 3 times by now.

Though I prefer hardcore/screamo bands such as City of Caterpillar, The Saddest Landscape, Raein, I Robot... And the list goes on...
