Workable PvP - PvE Spec for Resto Druid?

I'm currently a PvE Resto Druid with a Crit-Based Nourish spec http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?drui...oeW-i7z,,10958 and decided I might try my hand at arena, 2v2. My offspec is a Feral soloing spec, and I'd rather not change it, so I'm wondering if my Resto PvE Spec would be usable for PvP.

I was in the exact same boat as you. I had a feral soloing spec, and I was MS resto for my guild, and I didn't feel like changing specs all the time. But really, if you want to arena (BGs it doesn't matter yet), you have to get a good arena build.

Honestly, I play a defensive arena spec, and I just use that to PVE with since PVE is easy sauce. This is the spec I run for arenas that is viable to PVE with:

You need imp barkskin because you're going to be spending 60% of your time in caster form, and without it you're as squishy as a priest.

Using both specs from time to time. I even use my Offensive spec to heal in 25man ICC raids, and it's going well if you know what you're doing.

I doubt you'll do well healing AoE fights in 25 ICC without Wild Growth, but the general premise of your post is sound.

The three important pvp talents are natural perfection, imp barkskin, and subtlety. Do whatever you want with the rest.

Here's a thought for you, in some situations my pvp IS resto is stronger solo than my feral.

Ive had a resto druid trying to use a blended pve/pvp spec to raid and he just gets crushed by the other druids, I'd say likely your best bet is to just consolidate your arena days together and respec.

I use the offensive spec, I'm sure I surprise those DKs and others that come in and they themselves her charged by the healer. I just don't like never being in tree form, sorta negates some of the better defensive bits.

Feral charge spec is so BC. It's... pretty terrible right now.

Like someone above me said, it's only 8 talent points which are pretty much mandatory for PvP, plus almost half of those are somewhat useful in PvE too (3% crit, more armor = less instagib if you somehow take aggro for a split second).

The only bad thing you can probably do if you raid mainly is to ditch Wild Growth. Then it might be better to use the Defensive PvP spec. I myself have no problems healing with the Insect Swarm spec, lacking Wild Growth and 10% haste, but that's my opinion and playstyle.
