    Cata Blood DPS

So is the spec for blood DPS, so far, looking most likely this?

If I am way off please feel free to correct it or give your two cents.

You won't be dps'ing in blood spec. Blood is strictly the tanking spec. Look at the talents, most of them are survivability talents, and the dps talents are mostly just for added threat.

Granted it's more viable than say, warriors or pallys dpsing in prot spec, but it's still a stupid idea.

Lol @ Imp Blood Presence and no Hemorrhagic Fever.

So, basically I should go DW Frost or Unholy atm?

Yeah. You wouldn't be able to DPS in Blood anyway; the Masteries ensure your damage output would be far behind anyone else.

Frost will be both DW and 2Her viable, where unholy will only be 2Her viable but you get a pet as well.

Blood will no longer be a viable DPS spec.

2h frost is going to be competitive with dual wield frost at the absolute minimum, so you still have plenty of options. Dpsing as blood just isn't one of them.

2H and DW Frost seem pretty equal in terms of damage. Of course I am comparing it to my SE vs. 2-ilvl251 1handers.

Blood is pretty much a all in one everything tanking tree.

    Unholy - PvP stacked.

Looks like they segregated the trees for defined roles for DK's with little room for creative builds.

Is Runic Empowerment looking like it will be useful enough to put 5/5 into it?

I would put money on 5/5 Runic Empowerment being baseline for any spec, DPS or tank.

I am thinking about rolling a blood pvp spec with extreme survivability and decent dps. The mastery absorption seems awesome (especially compared to other tanking classes which get block stuff, yuck!). I rune tap for 20% of my health (say 8k heal if I have 40k hit points) and get another 8k shield which is stronger than priests power word shield. Furthermore that shield can be boosted by the mastery stat which seems prevalent on the gear. Every time I death strike, bam! 8k shield! High stamina, plus resilience, plus tanking talents, plus masteries and he'd be incredible in battlegrounds.

I was thinking a 48/0/28 build wouldn't be bad. I would get desecrated ground and a perma-ghoul plus some of the dps talents from unholy. I would lose the burst of DWP but have more sustained damage which is important for battlegrounds in my opinion.
