So it shows that one of the passive masteries that resto shamans get will be meditation, which increses mana regen based on spirit. Does that mean that we will be getting spirit on mail now?

Vanilla WoW was a diamond in the rough. Burning Crusade cleared the rough away and polished that diamond up. During Lich King, that diamond cracked from being over polished and in Cataclysm that diamond was replaced with a cubic zirconia.

Ehm ye pretty much.. Dunno if you read even something about cataclysm but:
Spirit = healer stat for getting mana.

Spirit will also increase your chance to Hit
if you've specced for it in Elemental

Basically spirit is taking the place of mp5 for restos and as a result they are making it so they really dont have to design gear solely for eles by turning it into hit. Essentially your going to see mail int (int provides spell power now) and spirit, and hunter mail with agi and thats it. Ele and resto will share gear and the enhancers will share with hunters.

Hope this way elementals will have better itemization.
