Well, the humans and orcs weren't at peace until Medivh asked Thrall and Jaina to join up forces.

I think what blizzard is trying to achieve is that everyone should be involved ...so the entirety of wow might be called the great fourth war or likewise but with cataclysm it has been said the horde and the allaince are at war but they kind of have been since day one of wow (new horde) and (new allaince) anyway. You could say cataclysm liffted the cease fire.

right now its more about prep than actual fighting. warsong arathi and alterac valley are basically fights for territory. we get (tol barad?? was that a bg?) twin peaks and gilneas (new WG? amirite) so it will very much depend on the lore they put behind those places

Alliance the name is definitely true but the Horde actually wanted this war so to them it would probably be the Fourth War, War of Alliance Aggression, Alliance-Horde War, etc.
