He had regained his sanity by the time we fought him. Granted, he should have made some kind of deal with them, but still. With magic, if he deems something to be done, he should not be disputed.

that was the main reason (and a smart strategic step), but not the only one. Saragosa wasn't just a kind, lovely consort, she was greedy and probably had fun torturing the imprisoned dragons and mages ("I suffered greatly at the hand of Saragosa during my captivity [..]").

besides, even if Keristrasza deserved a punishment from your point of view, i doubt anyone would argue that raping and torturing her until she went insane, for no other reason than personal delight, is NOT the kind of action a sane protector and guardian, who is responsible for one of the greatest powers on azeroth and therefore billions of lifes, would take.

yes, Malygos' intention were good. he wanted to save azeroth.
that's exactly my point though: he thought he was doing something good, while capturing, slaughtering and blackmailing innocents, torturing helpless beeings, fighting his former friends and family, destroying big parts of the world without even noticing it and even doing what he actually wanted to avert: greatly endangering azeroth through irresponsible use of magic.

I remember doing all those quests, thinking that these guys we are fighting deserve to be killed, then I realised after a while that we were fighting Malygos and the blues... Eurgh.
I'm not being serious btw, I know Malygos was doing wrong, but the fact that he was making war on magic and being evil just ruined his whole point. He is a fucking Aspect, and was sane. Whoever wrote that part of the story should have been fired before he began. I mean come on, they killed of Malygos because they wanted a slightly interesting story for a single bloody levelling zone? Fuck. Off. Story. Writers. Argh.
