Can't you just pop like a haste potion and get under the 8 seconds on your hearth spell anyways? Or does that only work for shaman casting their spell?

That only works for Shaman casting Astral Recall and for the Dalaran rings and other transportation devices.

The actual Hearthstone is not affected by haste.

So yeah, if you had your Dalaran ring equipped prior to combat, you could bubble-hearth, assuming you had enough haste to bring your ring down to a 6.5 second cast.

And yeah, Divine Shield triggers the GCD so you need 11.5 seconds to Bubble hearth.
