Nameplates seem to be bugged for me since 4.0.1

I used to keep the enemy nameplates on constantly, to help taunt stray adds and have easy access to the health of all the mobs in a group without having to target each individually.. and it was as easy as hitting 'v' on my keyboard. Now that doesn't work, and all that hitting v turns on and off is the actual name, but there are no longer any easy click bars. Someone suggested hitting shift-v. That doesn't work either, it randomly shows the health+name plates on one in ten things, randomly, which just doesn't make any damned sense to me.
