Does anyone else think this should happen?

A slightly weird yet kind of obvious armor look change for..well..everyone.

    It involved Sockets and Gems.

Well, obviously Socketting a piece of gear is placing a gem inside it..so why now have this gem show?

    Like, here's an idea:

The T10 shoulders for Death Knights have one side with a skull, and the other with spikes.

So why not for the 2 sockets available, have those gems be the eyes for instance?

There could be so many possibilities for making the gems visible and adding a slightly unique tone to them.

Some other ideas could be from having the empty(if empty) socket visible, to having the gem visible, to having unique places that the sockets are located on the armor to give it a better tone(the eyes on a shoulder, a central gem on the head, etc.), and to just, if it's what suits you, not even having the empty socket or gem show visibly on your character.

    Any thoughts?

That'd probably be a central area for the eye to catch.

Probably because it's a lot of unnecessary work. Every tier set would have to be designed with the gem slots in mind - art and itemization are two different areas, by the way - Nevermind the non-tier gear that would need to have their sockets accounted for as well. Add in the green items from quests that have sockets, and you've got that much more work you have to put into the models, so we'd end up with even fewer different kinds and a lot more recolors than we have now.

If they took the easy way out and made your armor sparkle slightly with the gem colors, well, we'd be no better than the vampires, now would we?

The harsh reality is that life on a PvP realm can be difficult, and if you aren't prepared for the rigors of playing on such a realm, then it's probably in your best interest to transfer to a normal realm, or, if you cannot afford that, then consider creating a new character on a normal realm.

I just lol'd@The Vampire and Sparkle.

But, it doesn't have to be complicated. Just a dot or something.
