    big box on the left side of my screen

    As soon as I join a raid group a big box comes up on the left side of my screen.
    it is attached to a slider box that extends out into my view.
    I think its part of X perl but I can't find out what it is.

    Anyone else seen this?

    has anyone tried shadowed unit frames in place of x-perl

    3rd-party raid frames can do everything the default ones can, and more.

    If Blizzard is going to start snazzing up the default UI, they need to start with the buff frame. Currently it's a major hassle to remove a buff using any sort of buf addon by right-clicking, and that's -if- your buff addon supports doing so. Yet the default buffs aren't at all configurable.

    They just made the ability to right-click to dismiss buffs a secure action, which is why you can't do it with a buff addon. None of them support it anymore to my knowledge.

    Back on topic, as has been mentioned those are the new raid frames in the default UI. They're reasonably configurable if you dig around in the game options, but not as much so as something like Grid or VuhDo.

    If you wish to get rid of that box, just uncheck everything to hide all bars, and then run this:

    /run CompactRaidFrameManager:Hide(); CompactRaidFrameManager.Show = CompactRaidFrameManager.Hide

    You may have to do it everytime you relog so may as well macro it.

    imo for none healer classes, thoose raidframes are awesome, just toggle on the show class color feature and it will look like the grid you allways wanted but couldnt make.

    the funny thing is its more of a sideways U and even in a raid it does nothing but make a bigger sideways U.
    I guess since I am using a unit frames program it can't display or something.
    it has a slider bar but I didn't want to mess with it.
    Yea 5 years and 5 billion dollars and their interface is still 2 bit.
