From what I understand, Blizzard is not following a set schedule for Expansions. At least that is the impression I get when they say in interviews "we are not following a set schedule".

Blizzard, in an interview during Blizzcon (I think) said they haven't started work on an new expansion yet and don't even have any ideas what the next one will be about..

Afaik, Lich was allready in the planning stages during the beta of TBC, IIRC Cata was started during TBC as well. No sources so could be terrible wrong.

Rather then a new expansion SOOON after cata, im kind of hoping for a warcraft 4 setting the new world and lore in stone a bit, prepering for the expansion after cata.

From as far as a good guess goes, i reckon they'll an expansion for the Emerald Dream, apparantly a fair bit of lore there and i'd guess to say they'll do lvl 85 -100. not a lot to really do to WoW now seeing as they updated Azeroth. 2nd point being of the heard "new mmo" that i guess will take people out of WoW so expansion 6 and 7??... my guess is "its unlikely"
