    LF New Monitor

So I broke down (talked my wife into) and bought a new PC. Now it's time to purchase a new monitor but I don't know what to get. I'm stuck making the purchase through Best Buy do to the fact that I have a $500 gift card left and wife has cut off my PC funds. I'd like to keep the price under or at $400. I'll be using it mostly for gaming, some multimedia, and some photo/video editing. My GPUs should be able to handle anything you through at them, so I'd like to get the best for my budget with the options I have. Here's what I'd like as well as some questions:

Res: 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 (Higher, but I don't think that's possible with my budget)
Response: <5ms (Is 5ms too slow?)
Refresh: Most are 60Hz but I've noticed a couple have 120Hz. Would you notice the difference?
I/O: DVI or HDMI (I hear DVI is better but IDK)
    3D: Not required
Brand: Open to suggestions but I know Samsung makes a quality TV

I would've purchased an Acer GD235HZ but they never have it in stock. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Acer+-+2...&skuId=9907281 I'd like to have it in time for Cata so now I'm starting to consider other options. I'd appreciate any your suggestions/experiences with monitors. Here's a link to the site: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Computer...d=abcat0509000

    Thanks in advance.

I honestly don't see any reason to go above a price like the one I linked. That's the one i'd go for

Best Buy doesn't really have a good selection of Samsung displays I find.

    I'd probably look into this:

Edit: I'm assuming the US stores have the same products as ours.

Same products for the most part but the Viewsonic is currently unavailable. I'm not real familiar with the Asus monitor. I know their PC products are pretty good but I don't have much experience with their monitors. They look and feel cheap (old models, haven't looked in a couple of years) but that doesn't mean anything.

I take it a 5ms response time is sufficient for most, if not all, games today?

Pretty much. I don't notice any difference between my 5ms and 2ms monitors myself.

Is there a huge difference between 1920x1080 and 1920x1200? The price difference is huge I've seen, and I was just curious if the difference is that big.

The difference is small between 1080p and 1920x1200. I would be more inclined to get a 1080p monitor for better video playback when watching movies or the like.

Video is a Palit GTS450. Main display is a 24" full HD TV. Secondary display is an ACER 19" lcd at 1440x900.

    I wish they weren't so much more expensive. I'd take a 16:10 display over a 16:9 any day. =/
