Well, guess we'll have to call him a "she" again, untill she stops liking it :P

Oh, this is going to be not so fun. All stores in the Netherlands are running out of Asus DCII 6970's with no sign of restocking. Anyone knows if there are production problems or that they're being phased out already?

Have you checked MSI's Lightnings? Can't really find those anymore too... Guess I'll just have to order the DCII 6970 tomorrow or I'll be out of luck.

Just built myself a new system

HAF932 Coolermaster (what a beast btw)
Corsair HX750 (great PSU, comes with a bag full of connectors and a swank suede bag for the PSU itself)
i5 2500k base 3.3Ghz, OC'd to 4.3Ghz (24/7 OC, can push higher without stability problems)
Noctua NH-U12P (bitch to install, but keeps CPU nice and chilly)
ASUS P8Z68-V PRO (Good board, but don't use the auto OC as it underpowers the CPU immensely causing crashes)
GTX580 800Mhz stock, running at 850Mhz stable (top performance, decent price)
8GB Ripjaws DDR3 1600Mhz (probably the easiest RAM to install ever, plus it's rock solid)
Intel 510 120GB SSD (fast, reliable, and worked out of the box with no fuss)
1TB Samsung Spinpoint 7200 RPM (quiet, reasonably speedy and good storage to dollar ratio)
ASUS VE276Q Black 27" 1920X1080 (great monitor at a decent price)

Anyway, looks like a fairly decent build. :P BUT BRING PICZ

  12. #2272

    Talking

New rig yesterday, ironed out the niggles today, will try to get some pics soon.

Corsair 650D case (ordered a 2nd windowless side - much better!)
Corsair HX 850w PSU (more storage inc. as and when necessary)
    i7 2600k Sandybridge @ 4.64GHz
    ASUS P8Z68-V PRO Mobo
    PNY GTX 580 @ 795/1590
    Corsair H80 CPU cooler
    Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB DDR3 @ 1600MHz
    Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 32MB Cache HDD
    Crucial M4 128GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s SSD
    Samsung SH-B123L/BSBP 12x BluRay drive
    W7 Home

On an LG E2260 (1920x1080) as the main monitor with an old LG L225WS (1680x1050) as the 2nd monitor

I also play FPS and my job entails a -lot- of Photoshop and Illustrator work, so the i7 made sense over an i5.
    Happy days

Well for one, clean out that CPU heatsink with some canned air I know AMD CPUs aren't the fastest nowadays, and might be why you get somewhat low FPS sometimes, but 6fps sounds excessive, addons all up to date?

How's the case for cable management? I imagined space behind the mobo to store cables, but sure doesn't look like it.

it's got enough space behind the mobo but i have yet to grow the balls to rewire everything as i am clumsy and temd to break things.

Edit: changed a few cables around and it looks alot better.

got a new cpu cooler for my rig, corsair a70. only just fits inside my case and it's SUPER loud, kinda disappointed

but i now have 4.5ghz at 27 idle and 65 max load, so i guess i can't complain too much.
