Archaeology: Race change or not?

I haven't yet seen this question posted anywhere, so I thought I'd ask because I'm considering doing it myself.

Exploration: anyone leveled archaeology on a dwarf solely because of the racial or race-changed to a dwarf for it?

For those that aren't aware, the "Exploration" racial grants a few extra fragments every time you finish surveying. Tol'vir and Nerubian archaeology almost makes the racial seem like a requirement to shorten the grind.
