DEMACIA!!!
Pentakill!

I started playing LoL shortly after release after a friend recommended it to me. I was not keen on the idea of another DOTA as I'd tried a few times to get into DOTA but it seemed to simply take far too much time to learn, get used to and continuously play to be able to remain competitive and for me, the time investment wasn't worth it (nor could I understand why the hell I could kill my own team...).
After a few games of LoL I had managed to get the basics down and was starting to experiment with a few champions and was having a blast doing so, item building was so much more streamlined than in DOTA and in general it feels more accessible to new players.
I have not played HoN and it's not for the fact that it costs money to buy into the initial game, (even though I bought a boxed copy of LoL), it's simply due to the fact that it (from what I've heard from all) utilises the same play style as DOTA as a more punishing game for those who don't have the time to dedicate to playing it. A death in LoL whilst bad, is not world ending bad.
I in no way am denouncing those who like HoN or DOTA, hell if you like those games all the power to you and I want you to throw your money at the game, the best way to support a game you like is with your wallet and support.
I tried LoL for free, thoroughly enjoyed the game and felt the developer deserved some credit for the game I therefore purchased champions and skins etc.
If you love LoL support it, if you love HoN support that. They should not be compared as they are designed to attract different players, not better or worse players, simply different.
