The writing staff should be good for this as they did work on Teen Titans, Batman: The Brave and The Bold, and Avatar The Last Airbender. STUDIO4°C(Animatrix, Batman: Gotham Nights, HALO: Legends) is doing the animation

What's with that drawing style? Which target audience is this aiming for? Grade schoolers? Gonna watch some original episodes asap to wipe this image out of my memory.

Thundercats always was anime-ish... Hell, the entire animation staff was mostly Japanese. This is no change, just an updated look.

Thundercats was amazing at the time. As much as I love anime it will be very hard to outdo my the original.

I think it looks pretty cool actually. I'm still sort of bummed that they didn't go ahead with a T-Cats movie as originally planned though. In any case, although I do like the artwork, I doubt I'll be watching it as the dialogue would probably annoy my (old) ears.

Also, as others have pointed out... 99% of Rankin-Bass studios was Japanese (animators and artists), so technically the original was also anime... though of course in the style of the 80s.

I like the style looks good with a few exceptions...Panthro looks good but something, not sure what, just feels odd about the look and second WTF?! no Snarf ??? I notice Wilykit and Wilykat aren't there either but that's ok as long as they get Snarf!!!

i started watching the original thundercats series again a few months back, i made it through about 10 episodes before i couldn't bear to watch anymore - the original will always be the original, but it could do with a modern update and it looks fine to me tbh

might even watch some of it.....

The original Thundercats was made and produced in Japan, it was an animation style of a different era, don't be daft.
