I definitely had a WTF look on my face. I've not read any of the books and now I may just have to go get them.
I'll try to sum it up succinctly.
Holy shit Harrenhal
great ep... didn't really expect it to end the way it did.
Excellent episode - the ending scene was exactly how I pictured it in the books with Davos being like "OH SHIT WTF".

So much this. I was dying to see them verbally destroy each other and Stan leap down to draw Lightbringer on him...
Oh well. The rest was pretty great though, especially New!Gregor (still pissed that Conan wasn't brought back, but still, this one towers over Tywin) and the Tickler. Tywin of all people saving the day was handled pretty well.
Oh, and Roose is brilliant. Need more Roose.

Game of Thrones = borderline soft core porn
Best EP so far. Wish they could have shown more action though, especially the wolf part.
Only thing they need to increase is the action and it will be amazing.
Also: Imagine a GoT MMO
Meanwhile, back on Azeroth, the overwhelming majority of the orcs languished in internment camps. One Orc had a dream. A dream to reunite the disparate souls trapped under the lock and key of the Alliance. So he raided the internment camps, freeing those orcs that he could, and reached out to a downtrodden tribe of trolls to aid him in rebuilding a Horde where orcs could live free of the humans who defeated them so long ago. That orc's name was... Rend.
Read the first three books a good few years ago and enjoyed them for the most part. GRRM taking his sweet time to bring the series to an end put me off reading further; sometimes he appears not to give a damn about his fans. The HBO people have done a stellar job as usual in bringing it to the screen; the first season was amazing and took great care not to water down the first book more than necessary.
We're just about to hit episode 4 of this 2nd season and to me it feels like there is far too much being packed into each show. It is still the best thing on TV, but there are so many stories competing in the 1-hour slot that you really have to be happy with just seeing a few minutes of each here and there. That the seasons are only 10 episodes each seems a shame as 15 may have been better and allowed some better story-telling. I would love to see more of what is going on north of The Wall as I think that the events in King's Landing could turn into a bit of a soap opera if they dwell on it too much. We get that it's a political game, that power comes in many forms, and that Tyrion is awesome, but I would quite like to see more of what is happening out in the world.
As I recall there is a lot of stuff that needs to happen from the book in this season and it will be interesting to see which characters have to take a back seat while the war on the Iron Throne gets into full swing. I think Theon Greyjoy's character is potentially one of the most exciting - I love to hate his arrogance but soon he will have to make some huge choices and it will be awesome to see how he develops to become a leader in his own right. My feeling is that Danerys will have to wait until season 3 before she can really bare her teeth, and that we won't see much of Jon Snow and the Black Watch either.
Peter Dinklage has a potential to receive an life-time achievement award when the series end successfully. (read in the local magazine)
I'm soooo gonna root for him!!
And dayumn what an ending; i shared the same wtf expression with davos.
Too bad they don't show us some battle sequences; i don't know if they are fully written in the books, but i really want to see a big battle :s
so far so good; go go hbo

I'm just hoping they tone back the progression of the Wall sequences; they're happening WAY to fast compared to the books and it's a bit odd.
i just love the lannister family, especially the imp
So far, they've done what the book did. You hear about the battle afterwords. The only exception is the short treatment they gave on the battle with Yoren's Last Stand. That was well described in the book, could have been a fairly epic sequence, but they butchered it for time (and money) here.
But don't worry. There are a few battles throughout the books described. One of which is extremely epic, and we WILL be seeing it this year... you just have to wait for it (it will be towards the end of the season. If sources are correct, it may be most of or an entire episode). I'm not sure how grande in scope they'll go with it considering their budget, but I do know they filmed it.
I only worry about a couple battles in later seasons that will be equally as cool to see, but will require a large amount of CGI. I want to see them so badly (ASOS fans will know which I mean), but we may not get the full treatment due to budget.
*while looking up at the melted towers of Harrenhal*
Hot Pie: "What kind of flame melts solid rock?!"
Gendry: "Dragon flame."
Rudimentary creatures of blood and flesh. You touch my mind, fumbling in ignorance, incapable of understanding.
You exist because we allow it, and you will end because we demand it.

Very good episode . Of course they changed a few things to speed up the story. However i got the impression that it wasnt explained why Melisandre and Davos were in the boat in the first place so non readers might have been confused , or did i miss something ?Will re-watch it for sure. The shadow birth , pitch perfect , the creepy hand on her leg was even better then what i imagined .
