You may as well have just quoted me and changed the amount of games NJ and Chicago would win in.
I also don't think shootout wins should factor when determining who has the better odds. In the playoffs, overtime is eternal.

That's why I added the shootout stat at the end of games that went to it, so people could judge accordingly.

As for the similar predictions, that's just coincidence.

I just hope my Sens can put up a good fight. I was honestly happy that we fell to 8th, our style of play just doesn't work as well against the Bruins and we seem to be able to hold our own against the Rangers, though it is of course a completely different setting. I'll be happy if we at least make a run at it.

East - Rags in 7 (Bit odd that the Sens actually own the season series)
Bruins in 6 (Same here with the caps)
Jersey in 5 (the Panthers actually have a losing record)
Flyers in 6 (flyers own season series)

    West
Canucks in 7 (kings havent looked good of late and Canucks are hot)
Blues in 6 (the Blues have destroyed SJ this year)
Yotes in 6 (yes the Yotes make it out of the first round)
Wings in 7 (going to be a long series)

    East Semi
Rags in 6 (Rags vs Devils)
Bruins in 7 (Bruins vs Flyers)

    West Semi
Wings in 7 (yes i think the Wings can take the Nucks, they should have beat them 3 games to 1 this year except that lame Icing call)
Blues in 6 (Blues have dominated Yotes this year)

East Finals - Rags over Bruins in 6
West Finals - Wings over Blues in 7

Stanley - Rags over Wings in 7.

is anyone else a bit unnerved that Detroit isn't playing Phoenix in the first round?

I'm unnerved that your prediction eliminates the possibility of a Van-Chi series.

Chicago has been bad against Phoenix all year. entire setup updated.

Really think after going back to back 7 game series with Nashville and Vancouver they can last against St. Louis? I'm not just saying this because I'm a Blues fan but even if they do beat them in 7 really think the Rangers would take 7 games long to win the series? Wings are an old team and play the 3 best teams in the West each taking 7 games, they will be worn out and be swept if that happened.

the blues only have a defense. they have very minimal offense. this is going to hurt them. a lot.
the Wings on the other hand have a good defense, offense, and furthermore, have TONS of playoff experience.

should i remind you that the Wings own the season series too?
besides, these are just my estimates. i think the Wings can compete with any of those teams on that list.

Gratz to Nucks for winning the Trophy, to bad you never get the feeling of winning the real thing

    Canucks in 6
    Blues in 5
    Hawks in 6
    Wings in 7

    Rangers in 6
    Bruins in 6
    Devils in 7
    Flyers in 7

Let's go BlackHawks! We're gonna get the keys to the city, win the cup and a have a big parade! We're bring the cup back to Chicago show them all how hockey is played!

im disappointed we aint playing the Hawks first, now we cant kick them outta the playoffs in the first round

on a more serious note hawks/wings seem like decent teams.. Blues vs Vancouver gets my pick for the final.. Loungo is still on and off terrible but hes getting better in years.

My favorite part of Detroit playing Nashville is that Nashville actually gets to get their playoff games televised this year! Last year was a fucking disgrace by the NHL not getting a single Nashville/Anaheim game on national tv. They added CNBC (or MSNBC I forget) this year, but because Nashville is playing the most popular team in the NHL they won't even be forced to have their games on that terrible channel and will get NBCS and NBC the whole time.

Yay for at least the guaranteed 5th overall pick in this years draft. Be back in June, I am going to mock anyone who are Sens or Canucks fans for the next couple of weeks.

What's that sound I hear? Oh, it's the sound of choking

Good luck beating the Rangers, maybe you will catch them when they have been playing like crap and get past the first round.

As for me, I am going to hope for next year as I think some players are going out the door. Burke needs to get rid of Komi and Connolly, their salaries are horrid and they play like shit.

My point was you aren't taking into effect of wear and tear. After a 7 game series with Nashville and Vancouver the Wings will be so tired they won't be able to handle St. Louis' hard checking style, and even if they do manage to beat them they would get swept by the Rangers. I'm just saying I don't think the Wings have the endurance for the teams they will have to face.

    So my few changes.
    Going with Boston in 6
    Rangers in 5
    Blues in 5
    Chicago in 6

    I think that's it.

  20. #10640
Well we get Detroit, and if previous games are any indication this is gonna be one hell of a series. If the Preds play good defense and Pekka is on this thing could be over in as little as 5, if its not and we try and get into back and forth goal scoring this is gonna be a long one. Will be interesting to watch.
