I'm surprised they offered him 4.5 per for 6 years.. that's kinda silly to me for a guy who had one good season, and an alright one before a GIANT STEEL POLE HIT HIM .... into another giant steel pole.

NHLPA made their proposal today. Apparently it is a 3 year deal with a 4th year option. Players would rollback their salaries for those three years in order to further revenue sharing.
About Jamison managed to find funding for the Yotes last Wednesday, or was close to it, so that saga might come to its temporary end. But its been 6 days since that story and there has been nothing since so that probably fell through like always.
Wings apparently inquired about Keith Yandle today whatever that means.

Phoenix would want a forward that can score goals, so it's really Franzen or Filps, neither of whom I'd be too keen on losing for Yandle.
You can tell WoW changed the MMO for good when players started complaining about the amount of time they sink, into a time sink.
Well Phoenix, wouldn't, but Glendal does. According to their latest analysis, the city of Glendale stands to lose $13 million per year from having the Coyotes in town with their arena lease payments, money they owe the NHL, etc. Without the Yotes Glendale estimates they would lose $15 million in taxes, perhaps more. Either way Glendale loses money, but with the Yotes they actually lose ever so slightly less! Yay for fucking stupid city councilors! Yet to see if the fans actually care about the team enough to come out to games to stem their tide of losing $25 million or more every season (my money is on no).
I guess I don't get how this is a good deal for the NHL or for Jamison (well his investors since he is a face, not a wallet in the deal). Lets say he actually managed to cover that $20 million shortfall he had two weeks ago. How the hell does he operate the team exactly? Would he manage to actually get more investors to cover the $25 million the Yotes lose every year or does he expect they will immediately turn a profit. Getting closer to zero losses could be helped by the new CBA if it has more revenue sharing, but that is a lot of money to make up to even break even. I still think this ends in bankruptcy.
Speaking of bankruptcy, today was the day the banks could have forced the Devils into bankruptcy. Their owner owes $35 million or so today, of which he has roughly half, but they are going to give him more time to settle the debt because their return could be less on a bankruptcy deal.

Apparently there's a 3rd Subban brother and he's quite legit (D-man). Hurray for new things.
I enjoy that there are a lot of up and coming black players who are going to have significant NHL careers. Popeye Jones son is like the top US defense prospect in years. The NHL needs marketable black athletes to expand the game to the inner city youth. The NHL has had Iginla as a top tier black star and has never once marketed around him like they should have.

Anyone catch what Bettman said today? Heard it on the radio, saying they aren't even really close.
http://www.thestar.com/sports/hockey...union-proposal
He's such a bag of dicks, should consider a career in acting and destroy all evil asshole type roles.
so get this: in NHL 2013 Crosby got a 95 in Defensive awareness...and Datsyuk got a 93...
since when did Crosby become a defensive specialist?
full breakdown of stats for each can be seen http://nightmareonhelmstreet.com/201...os-on-top.html
aparently Crosby is better than Datsyuk in the following categories as well:
Deking
Fighting
Checking
Hand Eye
Passing
yeah...ok

I heard a rumor that in NHL 13 they fixed the GM's AI in franchise mode. I hope not, how else am I gonna trade Filpulla 20+ times for all the players I want.

There is little progress being made in CBA negotiations. From what I have been hearing on the radio, the players are accepting of getting less revenue sharing, but I find it absolutely bullshit that the league thinks they should take revenue sharing out of the players to prop up an extra 1.8 billion dollars to give towards lower revenue teams, it sounds like the league is doing this intentionally to keep the Coyotes in Phoenix for the next several years and operate it with a chunk of the extra revenue that they are taking from the players as a whole. The players are willing to take less in revenue sharing, but not as much as the league wants to cut which is something like 10%, I think the players want 50% like other professional sports leagues in North America.
