Actually SpawnXXX's thread was around before this thread. He actually put work into the first post, then this thread came along with a useless first post (which has now been edited) proclaiming itself to be "The One"Originally Posted by Trollsbane

Also, yes I know Trollsbane is a GW fan, I never said he wasn't.
But he can't expect to come into this thread and talk about SWTOR without people jumping on him. He should know that.
I'm sure if I went into the SWTOR thread and merely mentioned GW2, someone (other than Trollsbane) would make comments about how shit they think GW2 is, and how SWTOR will be better. I don't so this though, because to will only start problems.
Like this nugget for example, that starting this whole poo throwing session
He said negative comments about SWTOR in the GW2 thread. He didn't come troll the SWTOR thread, yet you feel you have the right to insult him.Originally Posted by Trollsbane

And I made a "One Thread" even before that, your point?
I've had quite the opposite experience in the SW:TOR thread by making comparisons with GW2 and being able to hold a civil conversation about it.
What he should expect is to be able to come into a thread and express his opinion in a non-negative way without fear of being flamed out of it.

Ya, we talk about GW2 in comparison to SWTOR in the SWTOR thread all the time. We just don't tolerate obvious trolling. Like Lefuu linking the same review every 3 pages. "LOOK! LOOK! THIS 1 GUY SAYS THIS IS A BAD GAME!" If you actually follow the thread it's extremely easy to track who's trolling and who's looking for actual discussion. We don't tolerate trolling. So far the mods have been very good at spotting them as well. I personally keep my eye on this thread because I like GW2 as well. I usually only respond when I feel I actually have something to add to the current discussion.
Also. Nothing better than a Charr Engineer. A big hulking monster with guns, bombs, and turrets.

If I recall, Spawnx made his thread after this one and it was closed due to this one existing already, and then he cried and tried to make another one and tried to derail other threads, so lets not bring him up at all because we really don't need anymore flaming in this thread.
Also this first post in this thread is far from useless! It was actually the first thing that got me to even look at GW2.
But anyway, we should try to get back on topic, I think!
Agree on the Charr engineer. I'm definitely planning on playing an engineer, possibly as my main. It's a toss up between that and a ranger, but I'll probably end up trying every profession just because I'm an alt nerd...
Engineers in PvP should be pretty fun, I think. Really looking forward to hearing more information on the PvP aspect of the game.
You're right actually.
Anyway's, I'm done with arguing.
I just don't think it's cool for GW2 fans to be called out in the GW2 thread because they made negative comments about SWTOR.

But back on topic,
I've always imagined my Engineer Gnome Rogue as some kinda ninja MacGyver.
So I naturally decided to play a Thief back when we thought it would be called an Assassin.
So when they announced the Engineer, it really threw a spanner in my plans (pun intended!)
I might have to make 2 characters, which is a big deal for someone who in 4 years of playing WOW has only leveled the one toon.

Ya Wow gets fairly dull after a couple playthroughs. My most recent alt I read quest text when progressing through areas that were massively changed but I mostly ignored stuff that was just old quests moved into a more condensed area. Did like that some of the quest chains were still there but skiped the globetrodding parts however (legend of stalvan for example)
From what I've seen it will take quite a few playthroughs to max out the personal storys in GW2 and I'll probalby play all the major permutations eventualy. I love the concept of the dynamic events due to there always being something different going on. I'm hopeing it will take years for me to see everything GW2 has to offer.
Mif, I didn't say anything bad about GW2. That's the difference. If I'd have said, "GW2 art looks like shit, TOR is better," then I would have no right to call Lefuu an ass. But, all I said is that they have the same art, it's stylized, and that I like it. You know what I mean? If you believe I deserved to get bashed because i mentioned another game's name in this thread, then there's nothing I can do to change your mind. But as far as i can tell, I said nothing of the sort to deserve that response from him.

Back on topic. I'm suprised I want an Asura. I usually hate the little people in games. lol
I really think both GW2 and SWTOR can coexist. If swtor is a flop(which I highly doubt) then I would definately give GW2 a try. All I remember from the franchise though was a big disappointment from GW1.
So before i was Aion saying that there grinding is better then wow grinding
Now its gw saying there phasing ( player actions having and effect on the world, as they like to call it ) is better then wow phasing...
