Valiona and Theralion 25m heroic - Twilight realm tactics

    Hello there,

We've recently begun to progress on this fight with our __25m__ heroic raiding group. We've seem to have mastered the 'normal realm' by now (not so suprising I gues, since there's nothing new).

However we've been struggling a bit with the twilight realm, so I was wondering how you guys handle it.

    - How many people do you send down at once? (# dps and healers?)
    - Do you use 1 or two groups to rotate in the twilight realm?
    - When do you send them down exactly? (We've been struggling a bit with the timing, especially when to send down the 1st group for the second time)

    Last but not least:
    - At what % do you simply ignore the twilight realm and go all out nuke to get them down?

I would suggest not ignoring twilight realm and trying to zerg, the fight is all about control. Sure a last minute zerg might get you the kill, but if you can keep doing the fight forever then you will get a garunteed kill every time.

There is probably a difference between 10 and 25s, but you do want to use more than one group. I think the best way to do it is to have the first group go down on every dazzlings and clear all the adds out. Then you can have a second group go down with a tank sometime in between in order to keep the add numbers down.

Time your tanks going down so that the second group has time to kill most of them and then come up BEFORE the carpet bombing transition and Valonia's ground phase where you need everyone up to stack up for blackouts.

It all depends on how many rogues you have.~ If you've got 2+ rogues then just send them down and tell them to stay down there the entire fight and have 2 healers rotating going down there to heal them to full every now and then(not entirely necessary and doable with one healer but I firmly believe this is the most "comfortable" way of doing it). Rogues should be Sub, obviously.

If you have 1 Rogue send him down and have 2 groups of 3-4 dps rotate going down with 1 healer following each group, classes that can reset their debuffs are preferred, but not required.

I've never done the fight without a Rogue(I am one) and am not completely certain how you'd go about doing it without one since having 2-3 rogues makes the twilight realm far, far easier. You'd probably need to send 4-5 dps or possibly have 3 groups, but I'd rather suggest you recruit more rogues if that's the case.

We usually go in with 2 rogues at the first dazzling destruction to stay there the entire fight, and a holy paladin + mage going in once in a while if necessary.
To survive as rogue I usually use prismatic elixir as the adds will go down quick anyway, I also use feint as often as possible and always reset my stacks with Cloak of Shadows at around 25 stacks, make sure you don't hit any orbs and you should be fine also make sure you keep an eye on the flame breath from the theralion > valiona transition as that might kill you inside, same goes for dazzling while you are inside.

Any other questions let me know.

We usually hav 2-3 rogues (tonight we'll have 3 at our disposal). I had a tactic in mind that would just send the three rogues down permenantly with 2 healers rotating to check in on them. Would that be viable or do we need to send down additional dps?

Speaking of the rogues, you say they should be able to stay down indefinitly? At what stacks do you cloak and how do you manage your cooldowns to survive until the next cloak is available?

I guess Azator answered my question already while i was writing it :P

Another question related to this fight: How many healers (Like, in total) do you use for the fight? The healing seemed pretty intensive last night with our healers running nearly out of mana after 1 rotation (pink / blue phase, valiona coming down again)

    On this fight we have:
    - 1 Resto druid
    - 2 Resto shamans
    - 1 Holy paladin
    - 1 Disc Priest
    - 1 Holy priest

Other setups are possible is well this is taken straight from our last kill.

I think you missed Sasi there (the paladin that was either dead or in the twilight realm most of the time, not sure how WoL handles that). Stop scaring me by saying you only brought 6 healers :P

The first 25H V+T kill we sent 2 sub rogues, 2 mages + Holy Paladin. We went down during the first dazzling phase on the last one. The rogues stayed down there and the mages+pally got out at around 20-25 stacks. After that, the same group went down again the next dazzling and the debuff would have dropped by then.

If we have 3 rogues, rogues go down alone and stay down until 10%. We send down emergancy healer if they fail with avoiding stuff, but they should not need it.

If we have 2 rogues we send them down, and 2x during the fight ( first 2 dazzlings ) we send down 1 warlock and 1 healer. Burn from 10%.
