Hmm.. that's pretty good for the price. I'd recommend getting a slightly better Radeon HD card though.

Like one of the 6000 Series cards?

either get the 5870 or the 6970 just throw cash out the window getting the budget cards and you will just need to upgrade sooner
also get a SSD hard drive for your OS and most used games/apps makes and insane differance

Eh, 1366 socket is being phased out already. Only reason you should be building new with 1366 is an Extreme or something like mine.

Without the Graphics card and some other little stuff it would of been 800. I should of forked over the extra cash for a better graphics card.

I wouldn't have gone with a Nehalem-build for what you're doing with it, but yes, everything looks solid from a reliability standpoint.

I'm not familiar with that particular PSU, but it's a 5 year warranty and you're not stressing it too much.

Is my 850Watt PSU have enough supply for my processor and graphics card? i thought 850w would be enough, but heard 1000w to be safe.

You would have been fine with a 600 even

You would be fine with even less. Your graphics card is only a 5770. I don't understand why you go for 5770 if a 6850 is a cheaper and way better option. Tbh with that system you should get a 6970 atleast.

Wait you first built the computer and then came here to ask whether you built a good one? :S

Well....you asked for it, so here goes. The following build would kick the shit out of your build in every aspect in CPU (especially when OC'd) and GPU (by a mile), and your system performance would've been noticeably faster with Z68's features:

    $1000 Build
    Case: NXZT Apollo $59.99
    Power Supply: Corsair TX650 $89.99
    Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z68X UD-3 $169.99
    Processor: Intel i5 2500k $224.99
CPU Cooler: CoolerMaster Hyper 212 $34.99
    RAM: G.Skill Sniper Low Voltage 8GB $99.99
Hard Drive: Samsung Spinpoint F3 $64.99
Optical Disc Drive: Sony Optiarc SATA DVD/CD Burner $20.99
Graphics Card: MSI GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr $249.99
    Total: 1015.91 USD
(Thanks again Fuzzy for updating your thread with nice new builds, you're a champ <3)

A decent 500w could run that system for years, and yes it would be fully safe. Whoever said you need a 850/1000w for that....quite misinformed lol.

0.o you don't need a 1000W unless you planning on running SLI or CF and upper end Graphics cards. For a single card use a 750 PS is plenty. I built a I7-960 system for about $300 less with a lowly 450 GTS SLI and it doesn't even stress the 750 Watt power supply at all. BTW a week ago you could have got a 460 GTX 1gb for $90.

I didnt realize MMO-Champ had a computer forum till a little while ago >.> lol.

Also what are the reasons that set up would run miles around mine? (besides graphics card which i realize i messed up on :/)

    1) i5 2500k's newer architecture results in performance ~25-30% ahead of i7 950.
    2) Overclocking a 2500k is far easier and more effective than overclocking a 950, and 2500k can achieve significantly higher overclocks putting it 40%+ ahead of 950.
    3) Z68 motherboards feature a 20gb SSD-like cache which stores your most recently used programs and speeds up boot times. System performance with a Z68 (assuming you don't have an SSD) is drastically faster.

I regret going with the 5770 series, 139$ and i dont feel like i got my moneys worth. 40-60+ fps on wow in Ultra, and like 57 FPS in RIFT.

Oh ok, Also i plan on getting a SSD in the near future so i'm not too worried about the 3rd one. Also i havent my overclocked speeds for my I7-950 yet, Can you recommend some good setting to have it on? just to save me some time to research and figure it out myself.

What cooling do you have? Those CPU's are limited by their temperature when it comes to overclocking.

There's no "good setting", it varies from chip to chip so you'll have to find out your own. Reading + research is the way

For the CPU? the stock one that come from Intel. I'm gonna be replacing it with that silver ZALMAN. My case has lots of airflow as well.

Also thank you very much for all the info, it was very appreciated (i will read up on that link you gave me). I may not have got the best for my buck, but i will sure get my money out of it after im done. =)

Silver Zalman? CNPS9900NT I'll assume, excellent air cooler.

    Good luck
