    Your ideal society

If you were able to mold a society to your desire, how would you make it, and what are some fundamental laws you'd have in place?

None of that 13 year old "everyone else is miserable while they treat me like king" crap. Your people should be happy, and your economy should be thriving.

Laws, finances, architecture, religion, education, sciences, corporations ...

A Constitutional Republic like the US. but with limits on how many terms politicians can be re-elected for office to protect the republic from career politicians. Because we all now how cancerous they are, and clear limitations on people in office. laws in place to protect the public and the government from lobbyists, career politicians, and keep companies and special interest groups from trying to pass bills and write legislature.

Also, fuck all this social justice and socialism bullshit. It failed so many fucking times throughout history that we should realize by now that it doesn't work. Marx was a dumbass, there i said it.

The most intriguing society that Ive read about was a creation of Robert Heinlein. In essence, from what I gathered, is this society the government and the people have entered into a Covenant together, meaning that they chose to be a society. But if you break the rules of this society (he outlined someone merely punching another person), you are presented with two options: 1) You may choose to undergo psychological readjustment (they have certain drugs that allow this from what I gathered) that would "fix" your problem, or 2) You can choose to remove yourself from society and enter an area that you know nothing about, and you will be allowed to live however you'd like to, with the additional part that you are welcome to come back into society if you undergo the psychological readjustment.

The society itself was a representative democracy of some sorts from what I could tell (he did not elaborate on this), but inserting my own views I'd like the system to be set up similar to how the US is set up.

History has shown that ideally, being under the rule of benevolent and fair emporer is the best. So I guess that would be it, except for the massive issue of ...."Oh shit, he died and his sadistic/selfish/incompetant successor is now in charge. Time to bend over and hope he uses some lube."

That's why I never really liked the idea of one person ruling over a country. You can lie your way into office, and basically destroy the country from the inside. The U.S. had a good idea, but they messed up somehow.

Screw the rich and help the people. Get rid of the hardcore religious mindset so many have. And make school much more worthwhile than it currently has proven to be.

No one did communism or socialism correctly. They all became dictators. Thus, they are the "dumbasses," not Marx.
And even Benjamin Franklin said the US constitution would fail and turn despotic eventually. He said in his final speech to pass it because it was the best they could come up with, but that it will need heavy alterations in the future.

In the ideal society all information will be directly accessible to everyone, including each others' memories, rendering the concept of individuality mostly irrelevant. It would be a lot like the Geth in ME.

In any case, everything would end up being run by some kind of weird peer-to-peer communal authority. Short term self-interest would be obsolete, since death would become meaningless, and we could focus on more important things like building rocket ships and creating ultra-porn.

I remember reading that book Brave New World back in grade school... and that kind of society seems like the easiest to manage. While it may seem wrong to some to "manufacture" identical human beings and train them different ways in order to make the different tiers of social classes, it really does make everyone's life so much easier. Everyone was happy and there was only a few people that would ever question their superiors. Everything just worked together in a society like that.

    Me at the top.

Seriously, the way everyone kept going on about "democracy", you think it's the governance's version of GW2 - mythical and perfect. What sort of idiot society values the opinion of Paris Hilton and Nelson Mandela equally?

Once that is done, I will create a government that is as decentralized as possible, with citizen militias and freedom to bear arms - think Switzerland.

Constitution sure didnt brighten things up. Most of americas political history has been fighting corruption and taking sides with two big parties. Franklin said the constitution was going to need heavy change in the near future, and only voted for it because it was the best they could come up with in that short amount of time to get rid of the confederation.

People dont understand anarchy. They think it a system where the "thugs" and "gangstas" be out poppin thar caps or whatever slang people use. Chaos and robbery and murrder and women and children huddled in the closet and that jazz.
    Thats not true anarchy.

And marx said communism ends in anarchy. So im not sure what the "dress" means.

This honestly, I think if the same people that founded the US, stayed in control the US would be a lot better today.

Some sort of blend of pre-Christian Iceland (without the slavery), and a Federal Constitutional Republic. In other words, more decentralized power. The national gov't only exists when each state/tribe comes together once per year. The state/tribal gov'ts only exist when all the parts of the state/tribe come together every quarter. The authority is local, but not hereditary, but rather voted in. Term limits for every single office. All offices are voted upon. Anything decided upon by the government can be overruled by the people with a very strong majority (75%+). The larger governments can come together in times of emergency, but are otherwise only allowed to meet at the proscribed times. Every citizen, man or woman, is expected to know how to defend themselves and their nation in times of need.
