New battleground system idea ?

So I was thinking about a new Battleground system that would be more fair for everyone. This new system would make you join Battleground groups with players that have a similar Item Level. That way low geared people would fight Low geared enemies and people with full Ruthless people fighting good geared people.

This would avoid having a group of 10 people with 7 bad geared players or having a freshly dinged 85 player fighting a full Ruthless guy.

Anyone else think this would be good ? It's quite similar to the 20-24 25-29 30-34 35-39 [...] low level Battleground system.

Yes because they've been searching for ways to increase the queue timers.

while it would be way more fair, it kinda removes the motivation to earn better gear. whats the point of obtaining that new necklace you need if once you obtain it, youre going to face against a new tier of players with better gear?

I think gear is already factored in to BG match-making.

I believe they added that metric to the formula quite a while ago, although I'm not sure about the details.

The general problem with adding new metrics to matchmaking systems is that you also increase the queue-times, the more factors have to be considered. And I never really saw gear disparity as a huge problem in BGs and think most people would enjoy quick matches over "balanced" matches.

It will definately make the queues longer, so no thanks. I don't want to wait 30 minutes for a BG queue to pop.

I would love a payload map, but that would just end up being "Which team has more paladins?"

I think in a balanced world this would be great. Sadly its not though. I'm pretty happy with queue time right now. Not really interested in seeming them change.
