"This JPEG image has the incorrect file extension."

I recently made an avatar to use on this forum, however whenever I try to apply it, I get the error "This JPEG image has the incorrect file extension.".

I'm not exactly sure what this error is caused by, or how it even happens, does anyone have any insight on how to fix this?

Simply load the pic into Paint or whatever program you computer has, then "Save as" and there will be an option to save as a different file type. Then upload THAT file to Imageshack or whatever image site you use.

Change the file extension to .gif

It probably doesn't accept jpeg. Put it into some host (imgur is probably best) and it will be usable(should make it a jpg).

Careful on how you save images.

I'll use this as an example, yeah don't slap me for it.

If you're using firefox, at least.

the file extension is, '.jpeg' however its file type is .png

    Can see this

I have seen gif files as jpg, and such its quite amusing.
