Ain't it the truth, always seems to be that side in every family that no one wants to bother with. My mom's brothers are awesome though, just.. her sister and her spawnlings, yeah, no.

Luckily all the "good" family lives in Washington now. Even my aunt and uncle moved over here.
Then there's my great Aunt and her husband, nice people even if they are martini sipping pink socialist commie democrats.
Whats really cool is there isn't really any bad blood. Her ex husband, my dads cousin goes to family events with his wife and there's no real bad feelings.

Thing is, mom's even accusing him of cheating now, when all he did was get a promotion. Just because he's being mildly successful for once in his life after having grown up in extreme poverty, mom thinks she has the right to accuse him like that. It's.......just no.

But sorry for derailing the topic. I gave him a good long hug. Was the least I could do to show my appreciation towards him. Hope some of that energy is transferred to you as well. You shouldn't have to deal with that. Not yet.

Also, on an off-note, dad randomly came by and read this post. Long story short, it's the first time I've seen him cry in 10 years. Apparently he's gone through just about the same things, only he's even now yet to be forgiven (he's 52...), and worse yet, even his damn wife hates him. It gets far deeper than that, but I'd rather not try and shamelessly steal the spotlight.

Sounds familiar.
My mom with her direct brother and sister had this step dad. He had 3 kids with their mother, ironically 2 daughters and a son as well.
Long story short the guy was super abusive, and an example of how abusive, my uncle is sterile because he kicked him with an iron toed boot.
He ended up dying in their actual dads hometown, we like to think it was the wrath of our ancestors or some crap.

Anyways the crazy seems to be hereditary or something, because his children are just like that, albeit it gets worse as they age.
One of them went on vacation with us, and bought us tickets to Costa Rica. A few months later shes trying to sue us for reimburstments, after she made an incident at the airport involving the police dragging her off "on principle".
She bought me a car when I was like 10, when I had no real concept of it, and she used it as leverage on my parents for a while. We ended up selling it to solve the former issue.

Shit like that. My mom tried to help them for ages but after a while you need to cut it off.
There is always that side of the family it seems, and it does make you appreciate the good half more.

You see, she lives even more "in the middle of nowhere" than I do right now. She lives on a farm and is your stereotyped christian-values mother. Brother however, like many do now a days, experimented with drugs and attend raves and things of the sort. She very much disapproved of this and basically disowned us (because I've grown up with him and live with him, so clearly I'm Evil incarnate as well) So now she's been spreading around that we were corrupted by "The City" (even though I'm still just a small town person) and are into all sorts of crazy drugs.

Basically, I got completely cut out of their lives for no good reason and am not welcome in their household because I belong to the "bad crowd".

Theres actually a reason for it we think
For our issues anyways, we think it has to do with hereditary bipolar. My aunt used to be perfectly fine in her 20s, started getting awfully moody in her 30s, and was downright rapid shift bipolar.
According to what my mother said, the step dad had it too probably, since there were small periods he was nice, and actually seemed to regret what he did(as in crying)
So we think age accentuates it, and that its hereditary, because EVERYONE in the step dads family has it. Supposedly they were inbred a long time ago, like 1700s and served as guards in Scotland or something. Might stem from that.

Everything seems to be going from bad to worse now. Both his parents are in dire health, with his mother constantly losing her memory and stuff, and grandpa crying night after night because of that. Guess that explains why he kept leaving every other weekend...

The only side of his family that Skelington respects are his mother's twin sister's. Have always been close to her and her 3 kids(we played warcraft together as well, but they dont live in this state).
His mother's other sister? Her family can rot.
