This is what my mage will be wearing. I found it interesting that blue overalls turned into an overskirt when placed over a skirty leg pieces so I worked off of that XD (too bad it looks like a frost set and I never play frost)

The staff has a yellowish glow, just can't see it on wowhead

Too bad mages cant wear shields heh :P Well I guess the offhand that comes closest to a shield is Heart of the Pit but that doesn't really suit the character of Link. Your best bet is to install the addon Mogit and look for a suiting off-hand yourself. However if you don't want to do that, here are some options:

Maybe a lantern?
Deep Core Lantern
Eerie Stable Lantern

Or like a scepter of some sorts?
Thaurissan's Royal Scepter
High Councillo's Scepter

or a torch!

Well it certainly is unique lol. Not really my taste but if its what you like do it! I would try to find a robe that fits the shoulders/glove/weapons more though!
