Are there any specific tips for moving more efficiently to keep optimal uptime on sniper training? Or is it more of a "practice makes perfect" type of thing?

gear: no 4set which is pretty huge. badly itemized off pieces, low crit. I'd expect you to do less damage than someone fully raid geared but lower ilvl. one of your rings is not enchanted

26/32 CS a bit on the low side. granted you don't have your 4set so you might delay CS waiting for AiS to finish but still.
you didn't sync your RF with ring. without 4set RF haste+AiS=good. And when you don't sync the first RF with ring subsequent ones are going to be desynced because people use ring on CD. Dunno why your 3rd RF was popped before ring. scientists baffled @ lust timing
I don't see why you used barrage 9 times, evenly throughout the fight. Barrage isn't good on 2 targets let alone single target.
Why did you cast explosive trap 8 times?
Why did you cast multishot 11 times?

edit2: the barrage on 2 targets thing - it's less good than AiS+TotH with 4set but without 4set maybe it's as good? anyway you shouldn't be using it off cd on council

Explosive trap because i thought i should use it everytime its up, because no cost and some damage.. Multishot because of the adds on one part of the boss where the one of the guys disappear and a lot of adds like him appear on the map, and barrage because i forgot to change to Glaive Toss, and i thought it is better to use than aimshot, because it takes a lot of time of waiting for AiS. so the thing is, use always CS, and always AiS, Sync RF with the ring (Super important part) and the rest is equipment problem?

explosive trap is a dps loss just because it doesn't do enough damage for its GCD. MS does very little damage and should never be used in raid. don't barrage on single target. barrage on 2 targets if you don't have any procs. barrage doesn't need to be used on CD and should be saved for when you can hit the most targets with it.

I chose logs for a largely stand still fight. I am a very poor hunter and I know many things I am doing wrong but what I cannot figure out is why my fellow hunters tend to have up to 2x the Aimed Shots and Steady Shots. I have about 230-300 latency but I am not sure how much that impacts other than my opener has an obvious delay. Currently I am trying to work on lining up my pots, stampede, RF with ring and hero.

1. I am wanting to know what is the biggest thing holding me back from my peers' dps. I do realize I only used 1 pot that fight, that is atypical and I do not remember why that would have happened.

2. I do follow Azor' guide closely - using his weights my Mastery is much heavier than other hunters. Are my peers getting more AS and SS because they have higher MS chance? I notice looking at the logs that they have many more MS strikes than I do for all shots, stampede, and Mirror. My current armory shall reflect changing my gear to crit/ms heavy (lower ilvl) vs crit/ms/mastery weights as I am seeing if more ms helps even tho lower agi.

3. When RF 2p proc comes up I am to have focus saved to spam AS correct?

i had come to terms fighting for 3rd place amongst the hunters in my guild for the longest time now, due to the fact that i tend to forsake sniper training allot in favor of movement for whatever reason (i have a WA to track the time windows but still) and the ocasional hickup in focus starvation at the wrong time. however that fight i didn't really have allot of hickups and i was quite proud of my preformance (stricly speaking for hunter mechanics) ie, high(ish) sniper training up time, didn't really miss allot of CS. i have had some focus wasted and i'm aware of that but other then that i think i did quite good. yet my dps is so much lower then that of #1 hunter despite being only 2 ILVLS apart. having finaly obtained the trinket from tyrant i ran out of reasons i can think of why my dps is so much lower. exhausted of ideas i now turn to you guys. have i interpeted icy veins wrong? is my rotation that fcked up? am i simply missing a cap or something? i have no clue

Hello. So, I just got my 4th piece of Tier and I am loving it already. It is so awesome, having 3 instant spells and one to regenerate focus. My question is, does Aimed Shot surpass Chimera now in terms of priority? Or is it the same and top Chimera should always be on CD then Aimed Shot, and if the target is below 35% is Kill Shot still king and has to be on CD?

So what I am asking bassically is did anything change now that I have instant Aimed Shot?

He is doing terrible DPS on Soc. He is my friend and guildy but wants to fix his dps. Can anyone help?
His dps usually starts off strong on most bosses but fades to 30k. He does great in lfr but for some reason in actual raiding he's not noticable on the dps meters.

I didn't get ring until yesterday and haven't raided with it yet. I've compared logs with the other hunter in my raid and we always have similar spell usages. I firmly believe I'm not doing anything "wrong" and that my dps is so fucking low because of the lack of the ring. All that being said, I was hoping that maybe there was someone here more versed in looking over hunter logs than I am and could give me some kind of input.

Here's an example. This was our cleanest Council kill.
Here is my spell usage.
Here is the other hunter's.

Steady Shot. 82 to 82.
Chimaera's. 31 to 29, in my favor.
Kill Shots. 20 to 20.
Aimed Shots. 55 to 69.

We both had 11 Thrill procs. He, however, gained 220 more focus from Aimed Shot crits. I attribute that to the fact that he had 14 more casts and if we account for his 56.6% crit chance on Aimed Shots, that's 8 rounded up. 8 crits is 160 focus and most of the disparity in focus returned. From what I can see, most of those additional Aimed Shots came on Gurtogg. He had 29 compared to my 17. That's 12 of 14 extra casts.

So my question is, why was he able to cast so many Aimed Shots compared to me?

Hey, I'm having some issues with my DPS. I've seen people with my gear do at least 115k, but I've only managed around 85-95k. What's wrong? I've included some recent logs so you can see my performance etc. Thanks!

I'm looking for any advice on Zakuun & Reaver. I think i am burning too much focus on 50 Aimed Shots, rather than pooling more and waiting for ToTh. Any advice on my logs will be welcome.

The priority still stays the same, the one big change is to make sure you have enough focus when TotH procs so that you get full/quick use out of it while that hasn't really changed from before you will just have less "recharged focus" since there is no more cast time. Another thing that is essential is to make sure that you are sniping targets that are about 80% which is much easier now without the cast time.

barrage, mirror trinket, and killshot until your heart gives out , its soooo much fun , especially if you have a few hunters in your raid, its a competition who can kill the mob the fastest

I've read Azor's hunter guide and try to do what I've read in there and i have definitely seen an increase in the dps i do but other hunters with even at lower ilvls seem to be able to match or beat my damage, I am missing legendary ring and 4 piece but does that really make that much of a difference?
