Also, just going by warcraftlogs stats, you're not going to get 300k+ as mm on a single target fight unless you are geared like crazy and play pretty much perfectly (95% parse). 300k for other fights is because mm is taking advantage of cleave whenever possible to pad as much aoe damage.

I understand that, though I should be doing better than the 10th-20th percentile of my ilvl bracket, and I don't quite get what I am doing wrong. I typically have 90-95% cast efficiency and 98+% Activity.

I just started playing MM last night for the first time since Cata, so, while it's not that complicated, I'm definitely not doing what I should be or could be doing. Can anyone see any glaring mistakes? This is one of my better encounters, feel free to look through other ones from that night, the obviously low ones I likely already knew what I did wrong as I was doing it. It's a learning curve, just looking to improve as fast as I can! Thanks for any help you can give!

Help please, I am worried about getting benched from my raid team, which would be humiliating. I cannot for the life of me figure out what I am doing wrong and I'm really upset/stressed out about it. I am an officer in my guild and setting a bad example, it would really suck if I had to be benched. My husband is the GM, how awkward and horrible would that be?
Any help would be very much appreciated!

First off you have 2 bad relics there. The arcane and iron relics need to be changed with something that adds to Pack Leader or Jaws of Thunder. Then you need better enchants especially the neck enchant it's a shame... Finally I'd suggest getting 2 agility trinkets as the most damage coming out of BM is KC and that does not scale with mastery but it does with agility, and some more mastery gear ... all slots mastery less the trinkets of course.

Seems ok from the number of casts you have. Once you get the 3rd golden trait you should get about 20k dps increase. Have fun farming that. ������

My damage is pretty horrible. Not too experienced with logs. Two of the fights have deaths, one from a melee hit from the boss and the other was from me not being topped off when Ursoc does his charge. Even with the deaths you can tell my damage was still extremely low before I died. Would appreciate any help, advice, or tips on how I can get closer to my expected dps. Thanks.

At a glance I'd say you need more Haste, and you'd probably have a better experience using Agility based trinkets as TheBetrayer already mentioned.

Realise it's only a normal Nyth fight and I could be running aMoC, be flasked, deadly grace double potting and have neck enchant. But I'm really looking for more of a direct analysis of my rotation \ casts etc.

Feel like I should have a higher straight ST throughput DPS with my weapon and current ilvl \ itemisation though.

I don't know if I'm getting something wrong?
My basic rotation is SW on 2 stack or with proc > AiS > MS > Ais > AiS. Barrage and WB on CD (where out of Vuln if poss, but I don't delay for very long.)

Anywho, apart from all the caveats I've just put on that, is there anything glaring I can improve on?

... only use SW if you are running close to 2 charges or get a procc. This may sound strange but you never want to sit too long on a SW-procc since it could appear that it proccs again during that time and by then you lost 1-extra markedshot. By missing an extra marked shot here and then you will have a lesser uptime on vulnerable and end up with a worse dps overall.

You don't have to press SW because it'S off cooldown. You can easily cast 2aimedshots-1markedshot during 1 vulnerable window and put 1-2 additional aimshots behind your marked shot and then use another SW because you come close 2stacks. Use WB as often as you can. It scales really great with your mastery and due to the low focus cost it is quite easy to cast once it's off cooldown and it extends your vulnerable windows (it also is off the gcd which makes it even easier)

for example you can cast SW-procc into 2 AiS and 1 makred into 1 AiS into WB into 1-2 more AiS and then use your second SW (which might even procc by now) and you should be close to regain a fresh SW-stack.

TLR you want to have SW ready asap once you get a procc to maximize your vulnerable uptime. Don't be scared of casting aimedshots without vulnerable up otherwise you will fall into those nasty idle-zones.

My tip for movement heavy fights is also if you use barrage then try to position yourself while casting it. You can travel a huge distance when you cast barrage then disengage -> use a sidewinders procc whle being midair and land in time to cast aimedshot as soon as gcd runs out. MM has a lot to do with clever positioning to min/max your dps.

Also try to precast WB before the pull so it hits the boss at the exact same time as you pull.

My opener looks like this: Pulltimer 2secs left -> prepot -> pre-casting WB -> trueshot into barrage -> SW into 3 aimedshots and 1 marked -> SW into 2 AiS and 1 marked -> SW into 2 AiS and 1 makred -> last truehsot SW -> continue with your normal rotation.

If you get insta-AiS proccs use them but keep shooting markedshots while vulnerable is still up.

Also try to use your last trueshot of the fight for the execute phase. (below 20%) Ideally you start your last truehost with a barrage to stack up your execution buff.






Try to maximise your vulnerale windows by using as many aimshots as you can fit inside a window while still bein bale to fire markedshots inside that window. From my understanding it's quite strange that barrage deals more damage than markedshots.

when you cast AiS marked AiS AiS then you will never hit a target with marked-shot without vulnerable being up on your target casting 2 AiS with a follow up marked can end up with markedshot not hitting the traget before vulnerable runs out. (our shots have traveltime as you can see on WB)

Bit of background: Vanilla to WotLK hardcore raid experience, came back in Draenor as a casual player. Goals are to clear Heroic content with my current guild and possibly start pushing some mythics. Just started playing hunter this expansion, originally played melee DPS Fury War and Enhance Shaman mostly. I did play mage during Draenor though. I have read Azortharion's guide and believe I am following properly, I think where I may be faultering is trying to fit in to many AiS and them hitting when Vun is off instead of waiting. My artifact is level 17 I believe I just got my first golden trait (Bullseye) and have one point into Windrunner's Guidance.

Any comments appreciated.
