Thanks for the help guys, we ended up killing it last night with all our best dps here (and our top dps not healing). Akatsuki's dps improved a fair bit with this advice, and although he still wants to improve more, I think it was pretty good considering he was raid leading, which we all know is a huge distraction from our rotation.

The number of Aimed Shots improved (71 up from 63) as did average damage of his aimed shot and marked shots, but are still a little bit lower than the logs I compared him to the other day.

Hello,

I believe that my dps is lower than i should be doing normally for my ilvl. I am always trying to get the priority system right,get as many AiS as i can during vulnerable,trying not to delay MS. Still i strongly believe that i am doing something wrong with my rotation. So any suggestions that will help me improve are greatly appreciated.

2. You are delaying marked shot too long, I suspect that some of the are used after vulnerable falls off, go for the normal rotation pattern of SW > AiS > MS > AiS > AiS
3. I think you are also spending too much focus

I don't understand this. Even Azor's guide contradicts itself here. It says use AiS as many times as you can as long as you can cast MS before vulnerable falls off. So why only once? You can go twice or 3 times depending on haste and even 4 during BL without vulnerable falling off

Well i was just putting out an observation while looking at your cast timeline, seemed that often there was a long time between SW cast and MS cast. I wasn't sure if Vuln was falling off before MS hit, it seemed like it.

Short answer is you might lose Vuln debuff if you delay too long because you forgot, out of focus, or lag.

Long answer is there was a long chain of posts in the Azor guide topic talking about optimal MM rotation and focus capping and how many AiS after SW and after MS. Too long to summarize but you can look around there.

I am using windburst and barrage on cd and trueshot just before I start casting aimed shots. And ofc I only cast aimed shot while vulnerable is up or where there's nothing else to cast. I must be missing something as I'm only doing 220k on both target dummy and ursoc

Trueshot is a huge dps CD so the best thing is to work on optimizing DPS during that.

1. Rotation on pull bad, not precasting WB, not casting TS after your precast, wasting SW, read the icy veins guide again.
2. Use TS during lust/execute, on ursoc, use after a charge so you don't get interrupted, additional bonus to track your trinket proc and use TS when your ursoc trinket procs.

Our hunter are not doing that great in raid, especially at Odyn HC and we will really need to perform well to be able to fast-phase the Hymdall and Herya in the 2nd phase. They have DPS problem in almost every boss but even more on this one. I would really like to help them as they are part of our core raid and always available to play. Thanks in advance for the help.

Having a little problem with my dps. Usually I tend to be somewhat mid to low tier DPS with my raid group, but in Heroic Odyn I am getting smacked last and feel like I am holding my guildies back.

Hi guys,

Hoping some well versed MM guys out there can help me figure out why my GF's hunter is abysmal in our raids. Shes struggled so much this tier, and I'm aware that having an 840 trinket in mythic raids is pretty unacceptable but outside of her obvious gearing issues, can you guys review our mythic logs from this week and let me know if I can provide any pointers? Here's our logs from mythic 1-4, and she really struggles on all of the fights from a parsing perspective. She's Shuoro in the logs below:

Hey Clutch,

I'm at work at the moment and will reply in more detail later but from a quick look her opener is very wrong.

Dragons:
- she didn't pre-cast: this should be windburst ~2 seconds before pull straight after a prepot.
-starting with 2xAiS isn't correct. Should be prepot, windburst, trueshot/any other cooldowns and then barrage. From there it's just normal priority; SW, marked shot then 2 or 3 x AiS then another SW and so on.

(remind her with trueshot up SW is guaranteed marked shot proc)

- she used back to back SW? That should NEVER occur. And it's in trueshot too which is even worse.

(remind her never to cap focus and never to have 2 stacks of sidewinders - the whole spec revolves around those 2 ideas)

Ursoc:
- She again opens with 3 aimed shots.
- From ~17 to ~22 seconds there isn't a single global used.
- Windburst isn't used for the first 40 seconds of the fight. Could be using the 3rd by then.
- At 117 she uses sidewinders without a proc.

It looks like movement really hurts her (maybe bm which is a lot less punishing on movement - I know it's sub optimal but it's not useless especially for someone who can't get movement down pack)



It basically just looks like she needs to learn the rotation a bit better and maybe work on movement. This thread is for more in depth issues but this seems more like an icey veins fix and then if there's still issues come back here.

Hey mate you'll need to go into a run (anything will do - queue up for raidfinder) and log yourself.

Look up a guide on how to combat log and upload it to warcraft logs and then post a link. Even if you do raid finder, play as well as you can and I can review it for you. There's really nothing anyone can do except write a guide (which Azortharion has done on icy veins) for you if we don't know what you're doing.

I know I had some movement issues / concentration problems last night. Aside from this, before doing that, I tested my brain by using "tell me when".
While helpful, without it I was able to dish out more damage - so I removed it again.

In Myth+ I seem to be better, too - maybe I'm just getting too slow?

Anyways, all these things aside - could someone of my brethren / sisters have a look at the logs and assist me a bit?
