We will update this post to let you know all the details when we have the free character transfers underway.

Serpentshrine Caverns
  • Morogrim Tidewalker – Tidewalker Lurkers’ health has been reduced to their post-nerf values.
  • Lady Vashj – Persuasion no longer provides crowd control immunity.

Tempest Keep
  • Kael’thas Sunstrider – The encounter is now set to its post-nerf configuration.

Again, these adjustments will be live following maintenance tomorrow, November 9.

Upon further review, we’ve decided to give this at least a week and discuss it some more. We will not be implementing the changes above with maintenance.

We’ll continue to look for your feedback here and update you with our revised plan, if any, in the next couple of days.

Gotta admit, on one hand them actually offering transferes from ghost realms to high-pop ones is a VERY welcome sight, as that is something simply required (usually fleecing the players for this trivial service). It's good to see them actually offering it for free, which is pretty much a novum iirc.

On the other hand, how messed up are the servers that Blizzard actually offers this for free..? And from ghost to high-pop? How low are high-pop realms right now that they picked those instead of the medium ones? I had to do a tripple take to make sure that I didn't read the direction wrong.

    Frankly, it's pretty degenerate.

If you go by Ironforge.Io, a lot of servers that had a 5k-6k population going into TBC slowly withered away until the dam broke in the last few weeks and so many people just started transferring to high pop realms.

    The issue is two folded
    (1) A lot of people want to play Alts while another portion wants to do nothing but raidlog, people that wanted to play alts struggled to find groups, which is obviously a massive downturn for those players.
Especially if you're interested in Arena, finding a solid mates on a medium / low pop realm was pretty much impossible unless you had dedicated friends to play with you.

    (2) There is no real downside on playing on a high pop realm, due to layering, you're unlikely to ever get stuck in a queue and you have access to a massive playerpool.

Like, Gehennas EU has like 12k+ Horde players right now going by Ironforge.Io, whereas any Medium / low pop realms sits around 1-3k players.
Having 4x higherplayer pool has a massive impact.

cool cool, so my so called" medium pop" server will stay "dead", ever find a group off peak hours, and even at these its veery hard to assemble group

So what is considered low population? IMO they should just merge all the servers with less than 10k active players and have 10-15 mega servers as it should be regardless. It is not fun playing on a dead server and we should not have to pay for Blizzards failings.

There's not that much fun playing on any server, there's nothing to do in the game outside of raiding and PvP

It’s almost like it was designed decades ago.

You mean just like Wow is today? I love TBCC and despise the current WOW so I guess fun is subjective. I would like to just see the servers merged to make the player pool that much larger. I have only ever played any MMO for Dungeons and Raids. I could care less about every other aspect.
