Azeroth is a living world full of people like you - other players with different backgrounds, cultures, experiences, and histories who have all come together to play World of Warcraft. Every player deserves to have a world that they feel safe in, so please take a minute to read our Social Contract.

While in Azeroth, do your best to:

  • Connect with other players and make friends! Being courteous in group content can help you and your teammates have the best time possible. Sending a friendly hello message can help set your group up for success.
  • Play as a team with your fellow players - whether in dungeons, raids, battlegrounds, arenas, or out questing in the world. Do your best to support your team through your communication and behaviors so that you can all celebrate your success together.
  • Assist other players that you encounter in the world. Maybe they need some help defeating a tough monster, or maybe they could use a little healing!
  • Help answer questions others have in chat channels like General or Trade. We were all newbies once - one person offering some help can go a long way!

We recognize that the Internet is not always a safe haven. With that in mind, please note that the following behaviors are not accepted in Azeroth:

  • Hate speech, including negative comments that target another player's identity, including aspects like race, gender, or ability
  • Harassment, threats, or abusive / derogatory language and behaviors
  • Spamming, advertising, or other disruptive behaviors

If you harm your fellow adventurers with any of the above behaviors, you are subject to punishment up to and including suspension of your account.

It's a big world out there, with all sorts of people in it. So please try to be respectful of each other, and if you ever feel like somebody is acting against this code, please report those behaviors so that our team can look into it. Together, you can help us make the World of Warcraft a safe home away from home for everyone.

I think it's fully reasonable for the sub cost, in the US, to be 20-25 dollars.

People don't realize that over the past 20+ years, the price of games (and the WoW sub) has stayed relatively the same, and has never increased relative to inflation.

How else are companies going to recoup these losses? The gamer crowd is largely too stupid to understand inflation, or any of this really, so instead of just flat increasing the price of the game or subscription, we get pay2win, loot boxes, micro-transactions and other money making schemes that turn games into trash.

I'm guessing it's because evoker starts at level 58, which is essentially a boost by the time you finish the starting experience at 60. If you're not interested in evoker, then I guess you're just out of luck though.

Confirmation that there won't be an art book included with the top edition? Base edition for me then.

Even though for years the dev's have reduced the need to group for content to a point where most players don't even say hi anymore.
LFR and LFD cut the guts out of social play.

You're flat out off your rocker if you think a sub should cost 25 dollars.

I get we have inflation, but after we got only 2 major patches and 8 month seasons they shouldn't even consider increasing box price.

Sounds like you have no idea what happened in game last 8 years. Since WoD LFD/LFR is irrelevant (LFD only useful for leveling) and literally only for people that want to see content. Killing boars in most recent endgame zone gives better loot than LFR.

Ok. So you don't think that even if they raise the sub they're still going to put in loot boxes, micro-transactions and other money making schemes that turn games into trash? Corporations are NOT your friends. They'll keep taking what you give them then blame you if you complain.

    Please stop.

Do all employees have to agree to this before entering the building?
Yes. Every major company has a code of conduct that you must agree to.
Pretty sure the contracts employees had to sign and the new employee orientations explained that sexual harassment was a no no, yet trash acts like trash.

Yeah. I suck, but at least I didn't waste years of my life learning a useless skill like trying to understand if Arcane is better than Fire.
I'll take "Things That Never Happened" for $500, Alex.

Who's actually going to respond to this and say "yeah, charge me as much as you can, dudezzzzzzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1"? Are there actually people out there who are that stupid?

Besides which, Microsoft is buying them. They don't need the money. Lower the price of the thing.

Your post heavily implies that the reason they are "good at the game" is because they "waste all their time playing the game" while you were getting a higher education instead of learning a "useless skill like being good in a video game".

Your post literally says that they are good (i.e. better than you) because they are no-lifers with no education, while you're not as good because you have a higher education and better job than them.

Which is why I'm calling you out for believing both situations are mutually exclusive.

    I said nothing about loot.

In BC I had to make friends and group for content, I had my server wide reputation to not be an asshat or I would not get groups.
Even grouping to help others kill a rare and complete quest in the outside world ensured your reputation mattered.

Now it is so easy for players to simply click a button to enter a raid, say nothing and bail when ever they want, this is where the loss of server identity began.
Just check the number of thread where players are saying that they keep getting their keys burnt by someone leaving half way through.

It got so bad that in WoD there was no need to talk to anyone as you could sit in your garrison and be fully self sufficient in terms of professions.

All these things led to player isolation and this falls fairly and squarely onto the devs shoulders, so I find it funny that they want to have players sign a "social contract" to encourage group play when they were the ones that isolated players in the first place.

You're thinking of collectors edition, which will be $100+
Which like last time u can upgrade to and blizzard will refund the difference later as Battle.net bucks

Thus far there's nothing to show those contracts are enforceable. Specifically because if you decline - you don't get your money back.
I'm not a lawyer but so far the few times I've read cases where people took companies to civil court - the individual won their (small amount of) money back.

Now if they offered an immediate refund if you denied that "contract" then that would be a different thing entirely.

It's the same reason AutoDESK last their case many years ago... you don't get to 'just' say it's a license and then so "say long suckers" if they decline.

Thirty bucks for the Base Edition, forty-five bucks if the Base Edition also includes one month of game time...
