Marvel Snap - New Collectible Card Game
Marvel Entertainment and Second Dinner have revealed Marvel Snap - a new collectible card game for Mobile and PC. The game is described as the fastest card battler in the Multiverse, where players can assemble their Marvel dream team from hundreds of heroes and villains from the Marvel Universe.

Ben Brode, co-founder of Second Dinner and former Game Director for Hearthstone, said the following about Marvel Snap in a press release sent to GamesBeat.

Marvel Snap is unlike any card battler ever made. We’ve worked tirelessly to ensure that the game is super deep for hardcore players, while remaining very approachable so everyone can jump in and have a blast. We’re stoked to partner with Nuverse so that we can reach millions of players with our first game.

Enigma Crucible Arena Update

During implementation, we found some concerns like pathing and line-of-sight issues that could have sporadically affected players and some of their class abilities. So to provide the best play experience and avoid potential frustrations, we have decided to go forward with the version that is currently available on the 9.2.5 PTR which has a single pillar configuration that remains locked throughout the match. We do not plan to pursue the initial version at this time.

Thank you for your understanding and we’ll see you in the Arena.

The snap thing is a diamond hard pass from me, but im sure some people will love it. I paid particular attention to "everything available CAN be earned through just gameplay...................over time" - right, so its mostly a cash shop game. thanks.

Lol, Blizzard has tried for years to implement an arena with moving parts and every single time it's a development disaster

Its not that random. The game is made by former Blizzard devs, most notably Ben Brode, who was the face of Hearthstone before he left Blizzard to make his own studio. He is also in this video.

It's branded as a "collectible card game", so of course it is. CCGs have been like this long before "cash shop games" were even a thing, considering that CCGs are generally just TCGs without the trading aspect.

These games have been cash grabs ever since they existed.

I thought the same, but then I saw this is from Second Dinner, the company Ben Brode (ex-Hearthstone game director) founded, so there's a link with mmoc audience

I much prefer getting an actual card that I can actually use over the right to use pixels in a game. There's a collectible side to TCGs that Hearthstone and other video card games do not have. You're not solely buying them to play with them. The video game equivalents are basically just chess boards with pieces you have to buy.

Well, they refuse to cover most MMOs in the market, but will cover any trash that's somewhat related to blizzard. Might be time to rename it blizzard-champion

    How I can tell mobile games and their marketing department have no clue on their customers and just hook people for the cash shop;
Another mobile announcement, people aren't waiting for the game to come out, just announce the game when it's releasing. If I can't go to the playstore and just play it, don't bother announcing anything. By the time they release and it's fallen off everyone's radar, the only press the game will get is how predatory it is and even less people will play it. It's happened to D Immortal already. Announced, laughed out of existence. Built a little good will recently with PC port, still haven't released it, during "testing" everyone found out just how predatory it really is. If they would have just released it when the most recent PC port news dropped, more people would have played it.

I just don't understand why these marketing and planning people don't understand, it's a mobile game, the average consumer doesn't give a shit and the random extra person who sees the announcement news cycle isn't going to be jacked for a no release announcement and will immediately memory hole the game.

Nothing wrong with that, but when im working a Steak House i cant offering Sushi, or even vegan menus.

And most this is the Start of the Downfall. Like a german newswebsite for Nintendo, called Ntower. 4-5 Years ago they started a second website with multiple other stuff. Comics, Movie Reviews, PS/Xbox News, but cause nobody visited this website they put it on their main paige and so the Nintendo Website is now a mainly nintendo website with lots of Xbox/PS News, Comicsbook Reviews and Hardware Tests for headsets, Keyboards and other shit.

    Money money money!

Nothing interesting is happening in WoW. Maybe they should start doing some GW2 and FF14 coverage as well. WoW isn't everything.

I'm a freelance content writer, I can cover any topic as long as it's related to Blizzard. I don't get paid more for this.

Many folks have been wondering what Ben Brode and his colleagues have been working on since they left Blizzard, after all they have received $30M in funding from NetEase. Covering Ben Brode's new game is more than fine, many Hearthstone enthusiasts might want to have a look at it.

Good to hear from Ben Brode again who is still very much missed in the Hearthstone community. Not my type of game and never been much of a Marvel fan but I'm hopeful to see good games coming from ex Blizzard employees, really hope Frostgiant Studios can make a solid RTS.
