We hope that these changes will encourage more interaction with the encounter’s existing mechanics, while maintaining its prior level of difficulty.

Dungeons and Raids
  • Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible
    • Developers’ note: The Zskarn changes address an emerging tactic that trivializes certain aspects of the encounter. We hope these changes will encourage more interaction with the encounter’s existing mechanics, while maintaining its prior level of difficulty.
    • The Vigilant Steward, Zskarn
      • The Vigilant Steward, Zskarn health reduced by 15% on Mythic difficulty.
      • Dragonfire Golem health reduced by 15% on Mythic difficulty.
      • Zskarn will now Berserk on all difficulties.
      • Adjusted the position of Dragonfire Traps.
      • Shrapnel Bomb reduced to 3 on Mythic difficulty (was 4).
      • Fixed an issue that could cause an inappropriate amount of Shrapnel Bombs to spawn.
      • Zskarn no longer activates Tactical Destruction based on his location.

Glad to have extended and pushed this boss over before they buffed it.

This isn't a nerf. They're countering a cheese strategy that involved "clever" positioning so you barely had to deal with traps at all and could just slog your way to a kill in 15 minutes with barely any movement or interaction. Now you can't do that anymore, and they also added an actual enrage timer - they say it's supposed to be a net zero change, but it's very possible this ends up as a BUFF for the boss rather than a nerf despite the HP loss, because now you actually... have to do mechanics.

Buff for the guilds that used the cheese strat but nerf for any of the guilds who learned the encounter the way it was intended. After 3 resets of gear that seems about right. Anybody who used the cheese strat must've known it'd get fixed so this was kinda expected.

Its a buff for all guilds, dragonhead activation is no longer based on boss positioning and will be based on largest clump of players. Also every kill played safe spot before from 20-30% hp, 15% hp nerf is barely enough to compensate for no more safe spot. Even world first liquid kill was safe spot last 10-15%.

Every guild who killed it already will extend since raid gear is worthless thx to new upgrade system. Other guilds will have to fight a harder version of the boss than before cheesing even started.

This is a buff to the boss due to the hard enrage and the position changes
